I've been here for a long while. It's nice to see a face that doesn't belong to Jackson. [Which there are a lot... A lot of goody goody Percy's running about.]

Besides the last time I saw you we were having a little sword fight and you kicked me off a cliff. [He has seen Thalia in games before. But he never stayed long enough to fully express himself.] And before that you were a tree.

[kerauno]

He's a pain sometimes, but he's my friend.

[ Thalia jerks her head back at the mention of their last encounter and her eyes narrow. ] I'm sure all you wanted back then was to have a nice heart to heart, huh. Like I said, I don't have time for that. [ That's right, brush him off for as long as she's standing here. Feelings are complicated, with and without the warring gods, and she would rather not discuss feelings and friendship and what used to be. ]

[backbiter]

Sometimes? [Luke has been at Percy's side for a long while now. Even though they aren't exactly friends he does have some redeemable qualities.]

A heart to heart? [Luke wants to be angry but she has every right to act how she is now. He betrayed her.] If I wanted a heart to heart I would have told you that losing you was the last straw. [Which was true.] I just wanted it be me, you and Annabeth. Like it was before Grover found us.

[kerauno]

You're wrong.

We could've been killed if we lived on the lam. Sometimes you need people who know more stuff than you do, people who'll - I don't know, keep you in line and not say "yes" to whatever you say. [ And coming from her, that says a great deal. ] I hate it, but I know need it.

[backbiter]

We were cursed either way. [He still lost her hadn't he?] Sometimes you do need someone to hold you back but sometimes you need to take the steps... Despite the cost.

[kerauno]

[ He gets another long, hard stare. ]

What else are you willing to risk?

[backbiter]

Anything. [He's already lost so much. Nothing really matters anymore.] And everything.

You can't change the world without doing what's needed.

[kerauno]

It helps, you know, if you want to change the world for the better.

[ She finds safety and comfort in the company of her Hunters, outside temptation. The prospect of all the power is less ideal to her nowadays. ]

[backbiter]

If you want to really make a change, Thalia, then you've got to be willing to take it control. The your father did.

[kerauno]

[ Thalia snorts. ]
