Stop worrying about it, there's nothing you can do about it. Nothing gets done when we're dead tired like this. Just be happy you got it out of the way tonight. Or this morning. Or whatever time it is.

Oh I have my ways. [Playful banter is Korra’s middle name. Now if we just knew her last name…] If I get accepted I could always patch you up. That’s the water healing specialty, and I’ve been taught by the best.

Is there like a whole turtle society I’m not aware of? Because honestly it does sound kind of cool.

Nahhh. Though, to be honest? I wouldn't know the difference if they did. It's not like I've ever been anything other than a mutant turtle before or anything.

Uh...sure? Though, I feel as though I should warn you that if I ever get that size? I am totally Godzilla'ing the hell out of the nearest city.

Yeah, no. That sounds bad. Maybe I’ll get to go up there and see for myself. Do you work in the city?

Not yet, but I keep hearing about how I'm going to have to find a job eventually. Though...years and years of being poor and living off other people's trash has proved to be a useful skill.

Where are you from that meditation leads to turtle island getaways?

Hobo soup isn’t bad since it’s not too far a stretch from some good old fashioned Southern Water Tribe cooking.

[She blinks in surprise.] Oh, well, I’m not too big on meditation. BUT [Cue the bored voice] as the Avatar I have to meditate to fulfill the duty of being the bridge to the Spirit World.

Sooo, I kind of decided to try to do that without the help of my teacher. Apparently that can lead to Turtletopia and all the wonderful things, arch-nemesis included, that I’m completely not prepared for.

You attempted to walk the Astral Plane without a guide as a novice?

[Mike whistles in amazement.]

Yeah, I’m sure I’m going to get a big helping of “Disobeying, Disrespecting, and Dis is important!”. [She says it with a casual wave, but she’s really, really not looking forward to being chewed out by Tenzin.]

Whoa, wait- you got here by almost dying and I got here by meditating. So meditation is just a step away from death?

That's certainly what it feels like when ever I have to do it.

And Tenzin didn’t tell me about that part!? [Easy Korra, he’s one of the few airbenders.] I’ll just have to bring that up next time.

Were any of your teachers really crafty like that?

[michaeljangelo]

I don't think Ninja Masters come in any other flavor than Crafty. I take it Tenzin is your meditation instructor?

Yeah, but don’t get me wrong he’s a nice guy and his family’s been nothing but kind to me. I just wish he’d understand that I can’t learn things the way he wants me to. It’s frustrating!

[She’ll just breathe angrily for moment.] Sorry, it just gets to me. Ninja stuff sounds a lot more complicated than bending. That whole moving quietly and not being seen thing sounds pretty hard to do.

See, bending sounds harder to me.

[Mike quirks a smile and tries to bend at the waist...something that's nigh on impossible for someone with a fixed spine to do.]

I guess it's a your mileage may vary kind of thing.

[She can't help but give small chuckle.] Not that kind of bending, but I can see ho it would be difficult for you. Bending is what we call using one of the four elements. You bend it to do what you want.

[With a solid stomp of her foot a section of earth rises from the ground. She then assumes a position where her feet are wide apart and knees bent so they are parallel to her waist with her back straight. She throws a singular punch which propels the newly formed rock forward and the she forcefully thrusts her arm down, palm out and the rock instantly stops flying and practically melts back into the ground.]

Earth's pretty straightforward, at least to me. [She smiles as she slaps her thighs.] Most of it's in the legs. [Standing back up she puts her hands on her hips.] Anyone can see that coming, but being a ninja and doing all that stealthy stuff? Not even the best bender can see one coming.
