Stop worrying about it, there's nothing you can do about it. Nothing gets done when we're dead tired like this. Just be happy you got it out of the way tonight. Or this morning. Or whatever time it is.

Were any of your teachers really crafty like that?

I don't think Ninja Masters come in any other flavor than Crafty. I take it Tenzin is your meditation instructor?

Yeah, but don’t get me wrong he’s a nice guy and his family’s been nothing but kind to me. I just wish he’d understand that I can’t learn things the way he wants me to. It’s frustrating!

[She’ll just breathe angrily for moment.] Sorry, it just gets to me. Ninja stuff sounds a lot more complicated than bending. That whole moving quietly and not being seen thing sounds pretty hard to do.

See, bending sounds harder to me.

[Mike quirks a smile and tries to bend at the waist...something that's nigh on impossible for someone with a fixed spine to do.]

I guess it's a your mileage may vary kind of thing.

[She can't help but give small chuckle.] Not that kind of bending, but I can see ho it would be difficult for you. Bending is what we call using one of the four elements. You bend it to do what you want.

[With a solid stomp of her foot a section of earth rises from the ground. She then assumes a position where her feet are wide apart and knees bent so they are parallel to her waist with her back straight. She throws a singular punch which propels the newly formed rock forward and the she forcefully thrusts her arm down, palm out and the rock instantly stops flying and practically melts back into the ground.]

Earth's pretty straightforward, at least to me. [She smiles as she slaps her thighs.] Most of it's in the legs. [Standing back up she puts her hands on her hips.] Anyone can see that coming, but being a ninja and doing all that stealthy stuff? Not even the best bender can see one coming.

....you just moved a rock.

[This is hands down the coolest thing he's seen all day. And that's coming from a mutant turtle.]

Yeah. Earthbending focuses on patience and endurance. That stance is pretty darn hard to maintain without training and the patience is knowing when is the right time to bend.

There are some crazy good earthbenders out there that can do some pretty crazy things. I wouldn't mind learning some advanced moves under them.

Oh I know that stance. I know it well. I've spent quite literally hours in it.

Especially after I've been caught doing something I'm not supposed to have been caught doing.

But I've never made rocks move using my mind like that. Or really at all.

Well, I mean, I can pick them up and throw them, but I hardly think that counts.

Heheh, yeah it can be a pretty good form of punishment. But it's one of the foundations of earthbending. So you were a little troublemaker too, huh? [Her smile could be infectious.]

It's a little less mind and a little more movement. But the stances, motions, and amount of force behind them is the key.

I mean come on, even without the bending part it has different applications. [A devious look comes across her face as she pounds her fist into the palm of her hand.]

Throwing rocks? No, not really. But there's other things ninjas throw right? Like knives and sharp things, right?

We have been known to throw sharp metal pointy things at people from time to time. And I'll have you know I was not a trouble maker. I was merely a trouble spread-around-er.

A little trouble is good every now and then. So let me guess, you live in the Water Sector, huh?

I'll you know that that's a speciest stereotype! And I for one am offended at the very suggestion.

Oh, no-no. Trust me, it was just a shot in the dark. Are any of your brothers there, or are you a lone shell on the shell?

Ehhh. Well, that's kind of the 50,000 dollar question, right there. All of my brothers are present and accounted for. In two instances twice over.

They're uh...all from different universes. And none of those universes are mine.

It's...it's a thing.

Well there's six of us including me, which...I'm pretty sure none of them do, but yeah. That's about the long and short of it.

Two Leos, two Raphs, and a Donnie.
All with different stories, bodytypes, names, heck...even different colored masks. It's ...like a page out of the Twilight Zone is what it is.

You have more soul than a lot of the hum-drums I know back home. A good old fashioned sparring match might break your brothers-from-another-universe into the Mikey they’re missing out on. You think?

I'm just afraid that I'd hurt one of them, you know? I get the distinct feeling that three of the five have never seriously hurt another living thing, and well...I went on my first mission at ten.
