I suppose it's too much to hope that you will miss that deadline.

My lady mun, I assure you this is quite unnecessary. The people there have only heard my name; they do not know me. Many of them were involved with the death of my father and brother, and the attempt on my own life. Is that what you wish me to face? And...I am only a young girl and know little of monsters, but the place seems troubled enough. Do you really think it needs a half-wild dragon set loose?

You need not answer. I can see quite plainly that you do.

I want it known that I still think this is a terrible idea.

[A little quieter:] I do hope you know what you are doing.

Don't worry too much, Kiddo.

I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific. Worrying is a great part of my life.

As it is with everyone, but you're worrying about something that hasn't even happened yet, not to mention, something you have control over.

When discussing dragons, "control" is a rather...dubious concept. "Suggest," perhaps. "Ask nicely."

Let's be realistic. You look like a really smart girl. Do you some good wits?

[Daenerys lets that sink in a moment. People don't usually look at her and think "smart." Then again, perhaps they should. Normally she'd play coy, but...] Yes. Many.

Then what are you worried for? There will be dangers ahead of you, sure, but as long as you got your smarts and your wits, you'll make it out just fine. Maybe a little bruised...but just fine.

My name is Daenerys Targaryen. [She considers listing the full titles, but that could take awhile if she did, so she shortens it.] Rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Queen of Meereen, and Khaleesi of the Dothraki Sea. And yours?

Nura Nal. Wife of the adorkable Brainiac 5 of the Legion of Super-Heroes, and Legionnaire under the title of Dream Girl. [Thankfully, she's wearing a skirt, so she is able to do a polite curtsy, though it is a bit fumbled, since Nura had only just started practicing, what with Projectra around.]

Pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty.

[She smiles a little. That style sounds distinctly Meereenese to her, which is normally a put-off, but it's clearly well-intended. Daenerys gives a little bow in return.] My lady Nura. You may address me as khaleesi. [She's always liked that style best, the one she's felt closest to. There's no ceremony to stand on here, so Dany supposes she can be called whatever she likes.]

Khaleesi. [Nura says with a deep, honeyed tone, closing her eyes a moment. The word is smooth...and it invokes the memory of a word similar to in Naltor's language, the one Nura had been raised to speak. She opens her eyes, smiling warmly.]

It's a beautiful yet strong title.

[Dany smiles again. She has always loved the sound of it, herself.] It is the horselords' word for queen. Dothraki kings are called khals. A prince is khalakka, a princess khalakki.

Oh, but it sounds much more than "queen. That title holds something significance that is gifted by the language's origin. Khaleesi on its own is strong, but when you speak of khal, on it's own? It seems lonely. A khal belongs with his khaleesi. They sound so amazingly strong when spoken together.

[Her own romanticism and whimsy slips into her tone. When she says the word "khal", she thinks of her husband, and how he seemed to solitary and lonely before Nura became his, in the words of his heart and borrowing of Dany's language, khaleesi.]

Hopefully your khal adores you all the more.

[Dany is still smiling. She likes this woman.] There is a common endearment -- shekh ma shieraki anni. It means "my sun and stars," said by a woman to her husband. He may respond with jalan atthirari anni. "Moon of my life."

[Her face falls a little at that. Her khal. Yes.] I am certain he does. From the nightlands, where he watches over me. [Dany thinks he'd be proud.]

Ser Barristan. It's good to see you.

Some may recall your face.

[ But if she does not remember... ]

My...what? [That takes her off guard. She certainly does not remember.]

Your face, my lady.

We... spoke, once.

[ and what a conversation to remember. ]

[She's quiet for a moment, considering this.]

I'm sorry. I don't remember.

[ he regards her with deep blue eyes, and frowns. ]

Your presence will complicate things, my lady.

I quite expect your lord brother will fly into a rage and try to kill me as soon as he hears my name.

[ He moves his teeth from side to side. ]

I would not put it past him, my lady, but such a thing will not be permitted to happen.

[ he remembers that dragon as well. ]

And who will be stopping him? You? [He has nice words, but this man is a Baratheon, spending time in the company of the usurper and his dogs. Daenerys does not expect to have friends, and she drops the delicate girl to show the powerful khaleesi.]

Among others. There is no war in Anatole.

[ and the last thing he wished for was having to defend Robert for a murder. ]

[She's not sure how to take that. She can feel her opinion shifting though, from "mostly sure he's an enemy" to "partly sure he's an enemy." That's something, maybe.]

I will not forgive him for the first attempt on my life. Nor the others. I hear I may face the Kingslayer.

[ grin ]

A dragon cannot be tamed.

[A slight lift of the chin in answer. She's heard of you, and doesn't know what to think.] Tamed, no. Controlled? Perhaps.

[ his voice is full of the confidence and foolhardiness that all teenage boys seem to have. he laughs. ]

Who would control us?

No one is infallible. Had someone controlled my brother, he'd be alive. If nothing else, we must control ourselves. [She's talking about controlling him, because she's well-aware that his claim is better than hers with Viserys dead.]

You have your children, and I will bring you a kingdom.

Perhaps. If I don't bring one to you, first.

[ still being cocky as ever as he pretends to think. ]

Remember that I am the one at Storm's End, dearest aunt.

[He is cocky, and horrendously headstrong...but he reminds her of her Drogo, and of Daario, and of what she thinks Rhaegar must have been like. It hurts her heart a little to see and speak to him, but it's not altogether unpleasant.]

And what do you have there with you? Some knights, perhaps a lord? Three dragons and eight thousand Unsullied should be a deal more useful, I think.

[ for the first time in this conversation, he is serious. ]

What good are dragons and eunuchs if you remain in Mereen? Our blood may be of Valyria, but we have no home but Westeros.

[She gets serious in turn, voice a little softer.] I do not mean to linger in Meereen forever, but if I had not stayed, I would not be the queen I am. I would not know anything of rule.

I will come to Westeros soon, as soon as I have the ships to carry me.

[ back to being brash and charming again! i do not have enough icons for this. ]

I should think Westeros a suitable bride price for your hand, is it not?

[She smiles a little.] We shall have a throne to share. That is the price I require. My hand may be discussed when it's won.

Come meet me in Westeros. I shall make sure to keep the throne warm.

I will. Soon.

But be sure to wash your hair first. [Because seriously, the blue.]
