Dear Mun,

You're certainly not losing your motivation. You can't! Haven't you just found a new cast mate for Steve that's practically exactly what you were looking for? I'm in here, I can see the excitement flaring each time a tag arrives in your inbox. Not to mention the tagging with Ian, and Howard. They're still fantastic threads.

I suggest that you set aside time to dedicate toward Role Playing until you believe that the motivation has returned.

And yes, I know that things are slow at the moment. Perhaps you should do a canon review, or bring the Third Doctor across. I know you've missed playing him. Or maybe that Nimueh can be brought over. Yes, she hasn't been out in quite a while...but she is growing rather restless. I'm not certain that joining a new game would be the very best move right now. Look, by all means, but please consider how much you can take.

Internship and graduation are coming. Remember that.

Isn't 'having fun' good enough motivation for these people?

It entirely depends on the player's style, I suppose. My Mun sometimes stresses about the quality of a tag, especially when tagging in a new comm, or in a meme, with someone they don't know. I believe that's what takes away her motivation. Or in the very least, it dims it.

If you can spell and achieve something like grammar you're better than a lot of humans.

But a compelling tag, or reply, tends to better prompt replies than a one sentenced paragraph that's more of a blunt reaction. At least that's what she has found. The threads which write themselves, and thus are more fun to write, are those where both parties partake in not only reaction to the previous reply, but also then offering a kind of action for the next person to then react to.

That's where she worries.

My mun says that interest in role playing, like any other hobby, waxes and wanes. You could always try taking a break and see how much you miss it.

Thing is, most of her threads are museboxes. She's too slow for memes (despite still tagging into them one or two evenings a week), and there's only one community still running. She wants something but since she can't find it, she's getting frustrated and therefore losing a little motivation.

Admittedly the motivation is in all things a lot of the time, not just role play.

My mun has given up on memes because it's impossible to find anything in them and other people tend to stop replying after a day, which is a lot of wasted effort.

She also thinks that there is a perfect game out there, but there really isn't, just interesting ones with imperfections.

That's rather a nice way of looking at it. Perhaps she'll take that philosophy with her on her next game scope.
