I'm sure there are worse things than a bruised jaw. But I also know he'd forgive most anything of you.
[That he did notice. No matter how upset Jem got. He tended to always forgive Will. It made him almost sad for a moment that he and Alec couldn't be that simple.]
I've already made a promise, and so I'm going to do my best to make sure that everyone can be happy in the end. Though that seems a little outlandish don't you think? Extravagant and magnificent... Shadowhunters don't get fairy tale endings. Not that this would even be your typical fairy tale ending.
Thank you... For watching over her. [He looks away, the weight of his own mortality weighing rather heavily upon him. Then he meets Magnus' eyes, that last bit confusing him while simultaneously feeling like a spike of ice driven right to his gut.]
I always will. [He stopped when he realized what he said. He'd not meant to say so much. It wasn't like he asked Will what exact time period he was from.]
Then you don't know yet... I shouldn't have said anything.
[It felt like then all over again. The pleading need in Will Herondale tha the couldn't say no to. And after a moment, he placed his hand over Will's only a moment.]
You came to me for help. We found the demon... I killed it after he revealed he tricked you into believing he cursed you...
[It was like a punch in the gut. Will drops his hand and stumbles back, his hand moving up to cover his mouth as he absorbs the information. Years. So many years of his life wasted. Gone. A lie.]
[He started to reach for the hunter only to stop. His hand hung there suspended in air before it slowly fell to his side. Turning his head away, he ran those fingers through his hair messing up the spiked hair.]
Yes. It was. Demons lie anyway they can. And your sister died from a nick he landed with his poisonous tail... not because of a curse. I am sorry, Will.
[This is a lot to take in in a short amount of time. Will is visibly reeling, and he the look in his eyes as he meets Magnus' golden ones is pure vulnerability. Part of him wants to run-- though he doesn't know where he'd go.]
William... [This time he did take a step closer and did something he should have down even back then. He pulled Will closer and hugged him. One arm wrapped about his shoulders slowly, the other hand resting on the back of Will's head.]
You'll have to forgive me someday... but you can blame this moment of weakness on me and say you were simply accommodating my frivolous and spontaneous nature. However... I can only tell you to live. What other answer is there?
[At first, Magnus' touch makes Will tense uncertainly-- he is rather like a frightened animal, unsure as to what the future or anything, for that matter, holds for him. However the touch is warm and calming, and he slowly relaxes, slumping against the warlock as though he can't quite support himself at the moment. He rests his head against the other's shoulder, and rather than speaking or trying to articulate anything, Will lets out a muffled, keening sound of grief and surprise and anger-- everything mixed together in that moment.]
[Supporting the Nephilim, he simply kept them both standing. Lightly threading his fingers through the waving curls of ebony, he let out a soft sigh. He'd once described Will as something broken that you put back together. But he knew he was more than that and much stronger.]
[Will's voice is raw and weak-- weaker than he'd like to admit. The nephilim takes a couple of deep breaths before managing to compose himself despite the moisture collecting in his eyes. He straightens up, still lingering close as though Magnus' warmth is what is currently sustaining him.]
I can only be grateful to you, Magnus Bane. You've always helped me even though you didn't have to. For that I'm eternally grateful. I. I just don't know what to do with myself right now.
[Shifting the touch to something gentler when Will stayed on his own feet, but he didn't let go. He simply hugged him gently to give the moral support.]
Right now... just breathe. In the near future... find what you need and want most and likely find those you love and tell them or show them.
[That was something to cling to. He gives a nod and manages to meet Magnus' eyes again.]
There's so much I need to do. So much I need to make up for.
[Though he's a bit awkward, he even manages to give Magnus a squeeze in return, his long pianist's fingers resting against the small of the warlock's back.]
[Will can feel color heating his cheeks, though he ignores it and reaches up to almost playfully ruffle Magnus' spiked hair.]
Maybe...with time I'll come to see that in myself. Likely not until I've atoned for the slights I have committed against people who have always loved me even when I did not deserve it.
[Rolling his eyes, he leaned back to look at Will with slight amusement. Moment over. As much as he always wanted to keep the hunter safe. At least until he'd found his real happiness with Tessa. Then he'd felt like he'd gotten Will to the right place in his life.]
Right. You can finally indulge in your natural charisma.
[Moving his hands to softly rest one Will's shoulders, he smiled lightly.]
[Still playful, Will glances down at the warlock's hand and grins.]
Don't go getting to friendly.I wouldn't want to have to answer to my great-great-great-and-then-some nephew for something I already think he suspects me of anyway-- Ah, on that note Magnus... You wouldn't happen to know anything about why that is, would you?
Kiss. [It's not a question. Will's face burns a bright pink as he stares at Magnus stupidly. He looks bashful and a little confused, but he doesn't seem upset.]
So I'm managing to mangle convoluted love affairs even years after I'm gone. I like it!
[He refused to look at Will as he set his jaw not looking at him. Reaching up, he rubbed at the back of his neck.]
Yes. You're a home wrecker even over a century in the future. I know I thought I loved you maybe at one point. But no... I'm very fond of you. Maybe under different circumstances something else might have been true... but they aren't different.
I'm glad!
[That he did notice. No matter how upset Jem got. He tended to always forgive Will. It made him almost sad for a moment that he and Alec couldn't be that simple.]

[Will manages a small smile.]

[He smiles back lightly.] You're not cursed. You can do anything you set your mind to. I know it.

Not cursed...

Please. What do you know about it? Do you... know about the curse?

A lie. It was a trick.
I'm sorry.. had company all weekend XD

It's fine, I did too actually! <3
What...I. What do I do now...?

You're young. You have time.
[Hesitating a moment at the hands on his back, he finally sighed and leaned in to rest his forehead to Will's temple while closing his eyes.]
You're worth so much more than you see in yourself, Will. Don't forget that.
no subject
Maybe...with time I'll come to see that in myself. Likely not until I've atoned for the slights I have committed against people who have always loved me even when I did not deserve it.

Yes well... you're an easy one to care about whether you believe it or not.
no subject
Well, I know-- and it's just been tormenting me all of this time. Now I can just take advantage of it, right~?
[Something about saying that out loud to himself made it more real; more powerful.]

I used you to tick off Camille at one point while you were feverish. It was just a kiss. She decided it was serious and told Alec about it. Sorry...
