(no subject)

I hope you don't expect me to wait upon you. You sympathize with my enemies and yet here you are before me, gaping like a half-wit and still so bold as to ask anything of me. I haven't the time for this.

Bother the Stark girl, not me, if this is all you wish to do.

If Cersei's expecting a slapfight, she's gonna be surprised when Arya straight up shivs her.

You mistake me for some hired sword. You see, at the current moment, you cannot afford to be so thoroughly unpleasant because, well, you need my family. You don't have the food to feed your people, and, well, they despise you as it is, but they seem quite fond of us. I wonder what they would do if that extension of good will to them was suddenly driven away. I seem to recall a riot not so long ago ...

[Willas has too much of a conscience to do that to these people, but he's making a point.]

Furthermore, not only are you out numbered nearly two-to-one by Tyrell men, but we are already inside the city. If a battle were to start, it would be over before it began.

[He calmly takes a sip of his arbor gold.]

And unlike Ned Stark, my family knows this game. You would not be so easily able to catch us by surprise. And lastly, can you imagine how bleak your position would be, if hypothetically, we declared for the North?

[From the calm tone in his voice, it's clear he's not even making a threat. He's merely stating the cold hard fact of the matter. The Tyrells clearly dominate this partnership, through men-at-arms, food, and not to mention their bannermen's superior naval forces. As soon as he finishes speaking, he simply takes another sip of his wine, and perhaps ... just perhaps she's underestimated the crippled heir of the Highgarden.]

Man, Willas is coming out a lot different than usual

[It may seem impetuous, but he believes it to be the right course. The Lannisters will walk all over you if you give ground. Give an inch, and they'll take a foot. Allowing this will only let the Lannisters grow bolder ...

[By the Old Gods and the New ... he's beginning to sound like his grandmother, a prospect which scares him. Perhaps the war, and the pressure, and all the times spent planning on how to outwit and destroy enemies is beginning to have some more profound effect on him.]

No, that was uncouth of me, and I apologize. I've spent a few too many nights with far too little sleep, and it's beginning to fray on my nerves and temper.

[It was not untrue, and his apology was genuine. He was more quick to anger as the war drove on endlessly. Yet he could see that influence even as he spoke. He hadn't said he'd never dream of any of what he'd just said.]

I'm usually much less irritable and impetuous, and I hope you forgive me my outburst.
