Taoism is very easy to explain, much easier than Buddhism. It is simply an improved Shintoism after all! Without restrictions. Are you so sure that your own brethren would stick with Buddhism when they could come to understand they can eat and drink as much and nearly anything they wish with it? They are pretty lowly even for Buddhists, to think they can barely follow their own doctrine.

It is all in the Way, balance is what is needed. When one is balanced one is at peace. Harmony with nature and the world around is all that's important. There is of course discipline involved, but as long as you balance your indulgences there is peace to be had. There is no need to punish yourself constantly.

It is but natural to be hostile towards evil. Buddhism has tipped too far and needs to be trimmed, preferably uprooted and disposed of Japan would be in perfect harmony simply having Taoism and Shintoism instead.

Is it not a Buddhist teaching the life is suffering and the way to escape such things is through controlled restriction? It's a religion for control and order, as apposed to freedom and acceptance.
