I'm scared. I don't want to go to a city of Sin where I don't know anyone and all of these wicked things happen to people. I'm nothing special. I don't have any powers or skills to combat such adversity. I'm just... well, I'm just me. What's this you say? There is more to me than I know? I don't know what you could be referring to. How could I have some connection a Greek myth? The story of Orpheus and Eurydice? It is one of my favorite ballets, but what does that have to do with me?

I've only been once before when my extended family scraped up enough money to send us a plane ticket. We didn't get to see Rome or a lot of the tourist areas, but more the countryside where my family is from. But yes, it was breath taking. I would love to move there someday. It just felt so much like home.

You'll presumably have to wait until Bete Noire spits you back out before you get to move there, then.

I suppose so. Sounds like a lot of my plans might have to go on hold when I get sent to the city. My mun keeps promising me it will be worth it though. Do you think I should believe her?

It's a regular sort of object that, when touched, will transport you somewhere else. It's a one-time enchantment, generally with a very specific time attached.

Depends on what sort of horrid plans she has for you, really.

That must be one of your wizardy things you do. I don't know what you mean really by touching something and it will transport me someplace. Or really enchantment for that matter. Makes me think of all those fun myths I like to read about from ancient times.

I don't think it's gone too well for some of her other muses, unfortunately.

Oh, now you are just seeing how gullible I am! Of course they are just myths. Right? I mean, their just old Greek stories. Or I suppose any culture has their own old stories. Don't you think?

That sounds dreadful. Well, if it makes you feel better I don't have any plans on doing that any time soon. Ever actually.

Yes, like in person. As in one of my former classmates is apparently dating one. Merlin only knows why, but I can hardly state my opinions on her taste.

I like reading. Quite a lot, in fact.

She's dating a god? That's... well, if they're anything like the Greek mythology I'm sure he's quite handsome. Although that's pretty impressive to have a god's attention, I suppose.

Oh, I love to read too. I like movies also, especially musicals.

Norse god. And he's handsome enough, I suppose. [Draco doesn't care. Thor is terrifying.] Merlin really only knows how she caught his attention.

I haven't seen that many films. People have been trying to remedy that, but I'm not sure it's working. They're odd. Like a play or an opera, but with this bizarre divide.

Oh I suppose. My favorite part about mo- well, films- is the scenery. You can't experience that with a play or opera. But you are right, you are removed from the actors more.

It's beautiful! Like the movie Under the Tuscan Sun or What Dreams May Come, they are simply gorgeous to watch.

Okay cool. I know a great hummus recipe I could make with toasted pita slices. Do you like olives?

They're...fine. I don't suppose I've had them in a while, but I don't recall hating them.

Some of my friends who aren't from Mediterranean families don't really like them. I'll make sure to put them on the side in case you don't care for them. I rather enjoy cooking so I hope you like it.
