The merman can only race to the other side of said pool and cower pressed against the wall. He's about to do the only thing he can, that being dive underwater and wait for this southern fried loon to leave, when...]

[Suddenly furious, Gideon clasps his amulet harder as the metal stick flies toward Mermando, sharp end first... looking to skewer the young merman.
However, the stick stops in mid-air, floating there directly in front of Mermando's face but not touching him.
Looks like he was just trying to scare the scales off of him. For now.]

Listen 'ere, gil-boy. Ya stay away from Mabel Pines. No more'a them letters in bottles, ya keep yer slimy fish-tail off'a her. She's MY marshmallow!

Definitely a new one. Sorry about the whole ensnaring thing though, mundanes kinda seem to do that.
