Maker's breath, you mean to tell me Maric goes back to the Deep Roads? Willingly? After the hell if was for us to get out of it with our lives? What for? Don't tell me he's following another attractive elf he's trying to get into the pants of-

Please tell me that was a joke.

It's not as if he can claim this is out of character for Maric either, given that his existence alone is proof that his father's "fidelity" was not something to be commended.]
Oh, don't tell me. You strand him down there too?
[No, he hasn't had a lot of interaction with Loghain before the incident at Ostagar, but one look at that scowl, and he only needs one guess as to who he's talking to.]

Strand...?
Ah. So which one are you then? The prince or the bastard?
[Because either way you look like Maric.]

[The unmasked sass alone should say that he was hardly raised a noble, but Alistair is also careful to refer to Cailan in detached terms. Not that he knows his half-brother any other way. He's fine with the idea of being unremarkable, and frankly doesn't even like talking about Maric as his father at all. But he'll be damned if he stands idly by and says nothing at all.]

Attractive elves are worth a little danger.

Didn't think the Dalish spoke to 'shemlins'.
[Once upon a time Loghain was a younger man and actually got along quite well with elves.]
no subject
[and, because clearly this is more important:] You don't find elves attractive?

You're got a problem with attractive elves more than with ugly ones?
I'd thought we were all the same to you.
no subject
I have a problem when my king decides to abandon his duties, his country, his child and his wife in favor of chasing a pretty woman who happens to be an elf - twice. And I wonder if he's the one who doesn't have some biased judgement about it.

[ ugh. she is trying hard to stay any judgment upon him because he is clearly much younger than the loghain she is more familiar with. but he makes it hard. ]
Maker's balls, you're a right cantankerous bastard no matter your age.

[Malcolm shrugs it off--as he does with nearly everything else.]
Though I can't say I see the appeal in running through the Deep Roads for anything. [You know, ignoring that whole part where he'd been coerced into doing the same himself.]

I'm sure he is doing what is best for every one. Even if it means being apart from his loved ones to keep them safe.

He could have drawn them a map, he'd better serve the kingdom on the throne we worked so hard to win him back.

Well, it was so scenic the first time, I thought I might enjoy it a second.
[ ELVES ARE BEAUTIFUL YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND... But perhaps we should avoid mentioning he followed Orlesians down there. ]
no subject
A second time which could have resulted in a permanent move down there.
[Maric you are an idiot you are a great bloody idiot why does he put up with you.]

Hawkward, especially since the only company he keeps on a regular basis at the moment is Maric, Rowan, and the Night Elves (most of which are men) so he's fairly certain he hasn't even met whoever her mother is yet.]... I don't do something like that, do I?
[It would figure that he lectures Maric about something then turns around and does it himself. That would be irony at its finest.]
