It's nice to be thought about every once in a while. One might think you forgot with how little you pay attention.
Though, I'm glad you're talking of finding me a place again, it's a bit boring just sitting around doing nothing, especially when everyone else seems to be having fun.

Tap, tap, he taps the rim with a rod thing he carries and then-
Nothing. He looks inside quizzically and then-
Nothing. He shrugs in a defeated manner, puts it on his head and then-
Poof. He gets a head covered in confetti as his hat shoots off.
TAH-DAH.]
no subject
Oh! That was fun! How did you do that?
no subject
[He scoops up the confetti into his palms and when he opens his hands, oh, it's a dove! Away it goes.]
no subject
[Because she seemed interested to try herself.]

[Not actually being a magician but just one of those guys with ridiculously unfair talent for trickery, he does indeed do this stuff on the fly.]
But I guess it's okay to tell other magicians, so you have to be one first then learn tricks.
[He's having fun, so casually produces a peach from behind her ear.]
no subject
Though... the only magicians I know of are a bit boring and spend all their time cooped up with books or dolls.
[And though she enjoyed books she much proffered to hoard knowledge.]
no subject
You might be thinking of wizards. Don't tell them you get it mixed up, they hate that.
[Straightening up, he snaps his peach in half, a coin falling out the centre instead of the pit. He takes a bit of one side and offers the other to her.]
Besides all that, being boring is a harder skill to learn than tricks.
no subject
[She gladly takes the half peach to bite into it.]
Is it? I have always found trying to learn the tricks a bit hard.
no subject
Oh, it may be hard to learn tricks if you're not like me, but it's way harder to be boring. You have to be smart enough to avoid anything interesting for one thing.
[Oh man he loves peaches so much, he's just gonna take another bite.]
And there's interesting stuff all over the place.
no subject
And what are you exactly? That allows you to learn these tricks?

[He poses dramatically, one hand on his hip and the other pointed up at the sky. A backdrop appears of a starry sky, a particularly bright one shining at his fingertip.]

Naaaah! I'm a human Sennin! I'm just good at tricks and bad at being boring.
[Sennin being the term for an immortal wise man.]
They call me... Taikobou!
[Which is also the Japanese version of the name of a famous figure in Chinese history and myth, Jian Ziya...But he's nothing like the dude.]
no subject
Though I must confess, I pictured you a little differently.
[She doesn't seem fazed by anything.]
My name is Yuyuko, and though I am not interesting like an alien or an immortal, I am a ghost.
no subject
They always add a moustache, you know! Let tell you, I have been a Sennin since I was twelve years old and semi-eternal youth does not mix well with puberty! I assure you I am a very grouchy old man under all this!
[And then he immediately calms down and bows politely.]
Some of my best friends are ghosts, it's a pleasure to meet you.
no subject
[She laughs a little.]
It is mine as well! Many of my best friends are still alive.
no subject
[Speaking of which, his peach half is done, so he he tosses the skin up into the air and poof, turns out it was a butterfly.]
I'd say that's the greatest pleasure of life but you seem to be fine with eating so it goes beyond that.
no subject
[So she could more or less act like a person, though she hadn't been alive for over a thousand years.]
no subject
[And he attempts to playfully bop her atop the head with his rod. It's so light a blow just her hair would cushion it completely.]
I can tell what type you are at just a glance, so there's no need to add the educational bits! I was a founding member of the afterlife! I've forgotten more about ghosts than you know!
no subject
[She looks up a bit at the rod, but doesn't seem to mind the light tap.]
That's quite the statement, though I do know quite a bit about ghosts. I am responsible for quite a lot of them while they wait for reincarnation.
1/2
You know, I practically invented ghosts! A young lady should respect her senior's wisdom even if they have the same expertise. If I felt like it I could write a book on ghosts you'd need ten thousand years to read, and ten thousand to understand!
no subject
But please continue to do the job well so I can slack off some more.
no subject
[She smiles.]
I would like to read such a book. I've already read all of my books and there isn't much else to do a lot of the time.
no subject
However. He really doesn't want to. So he suddenly looks a little awkward.]
... Maybe there's something to be said for the oral tradition instead...
