I wish I could offer some glimmer of hope, but in my experience they're all that bad. Mine certainly didn't let years since she'd last read the series stop her. On the positive side, bringing this point to her attention did prompt her to start rereading. Hopefully your mun will do the same?

She's begun to read the first book but she's also reading another vampire book series. One where they have... tattoo's of some sort. So it's very slow reading.

[At least in a war game, he can be of use and help with treating the injured but still... War. Everyone knows how much Carlisle likes physical confrontations.]

I guess that's true, I wasn't thinking of it that way.

[But Carlisle would think first of how he could help people. That's one of the many reasons he's better than Edward. And yes he is casually answering thoughts instead of words. Luckily Carlisle is used to it.]

I suppose the best way to put it would be a battle royale. They call it a game, but the game in this case is murdering the other players before they can murder you. It's televised. The public has to be entertained somehow.

I'm not as sure of that as you are, Carlisle.

It will be harder because I almost certainly won't be able to read minds. It would be easier if I was going to be... myself, with everything that I can and cannot do intact. But that won't be the case. And even if it were-

In these... arenas there won't always be...

I wouldn't be able to starve myself like you did the first time, I don't think. Especially not somewhere that there's likely to be so much blood.
