You know that I like an adventure as much as the next person, but I don't want to leave the Winter Woods forever. It's already so close to spring where you are! I'll get too hot, and you remember what happened to my wings last time. Besides, Tinker Bell will worry if I go missing.

.. Oh! Of course I've heard of Jack Frost. That's who they think makes winter on the Mainland, right? Though I'm not really sure what that has to do with my being here.

Oh! Hello! [ she certainly doesn't see dogs often, but then, they're usually inside houses on the mainland.

she flits up, perching on his nose and leaning in to pat his head. ]

[You're nice too, little fairy who bears an odd resemblence to Tinker Bell! Max pants happily and wags his tail as his head is patted.]

[ she settles on the bridge of his snout, legs dangling, wings fluttering. ]

Are you here all by yourself?

No one 'makes' winter. You might want to look at a science textbook.

That's silly. Of course someone makes winter. That's what frost fairies like me do.

Winter just happens based on where the planet is in its orbit. No one makes it.

Goodness, what an unfortunate world you live in, then. It's so.. impersonal.

[ This is not the sort of fairy he's accustomed to. Much less feathery, much more...people-y. But he'll go with it. ]

I can fix that "too hot" thing for you, if you want.

Oh! I didn't know you were real! Where I'm from, frost fairies like me bring winter.

[ she flits up to perch on the top of his staff, legs swinging. ]

That would be nice.

Don't worry, not a lot of people do. I didn't know about you either - the fairies where I come from just collect teeth.

[ And he exhales, a cold breath that chills the surrounding air. ]

[ she giggles, hands against her mouth. ] Teeth! I don't think I've ever found a tooth. .. Why do they collect them?

[ as the air chills, she sighs happily, wings spreading. ]

Well, look at you. Serious question, snowflake; How did they fit that much cute into such a small space?

[Yeah, this is a very tall guy flirting with a fairy. Not very seriously, but she's too cute.

she blushes, hands against her face. ]

But I think you're being modest. You wanna go roaming, let me tell you about these things called fridges, you'll love them.

[ she's so flustered for a few seconds that she can't reply, but at last, she nods a little. ] Well, there are fairies for all the seasons.

[ a tilt of her head, then, curious. ] What's a 'fridge'?

[staring in undisguised awe] Are you...a fairy?

Yes! Hello! You-- You're a human, aren't you?

Yes; yes, I am. [tries to hide how excited she is]

Oh my goodness! You're a fairy! Look how lovely and wonderfully tiny you are! Look at your pretty wings!

[periwinkles]

[ she blushes a little at the attention, wings fluttering self-consciously. ]

O-Oh, I'm glad you like them. My sister an I have identical wings, you know.

Oh they're beautiful! It is not common for fairies to have identical wings?

[Oh, well, if this isn't a treat! Tooth hasn't had the chance to interact much with actual fairies... but it looks like she's getting her chance!]

The Winter Woods is where you're from? I can't say I've ever been there but it sounds lovely!

[ greenish, bird-like, feathered wings.. oh! ]

Oh! [ an excited flitter up close, spinning once happily in the air. ] You must be the Tooth Fairy! Jack was just telling me about you! You really do have feathers. [ a slightly awed glance. ] They're so pretty..
