Yeah. Been getting that a lot. [ He chuckles as he places a hand on onto his shoulder. ] It is good to see you. [ And less..dead is always a good thing in his book.]

I am afraid I chose a bad time to depart, my friend. [ brisk, calm, with a bow of his head for a moment. ] It is good to see you again as well.

In my experience, they don't listen to reason very well, but good luck.

My thanks. [ Considering. ] Though if you have not been able to succeed, I fear my chances look slim.

Yeah, it's kind of out of our hands. Mine at least, is even more stubborn than me.

You'd think. [That gets a faint smile.] I'm - Well, I'm frustrated, because I should be home, but until that happens, I'll do what I can with what I've got.

Thane, you were dying of Kepral's syndrome but you still gave Kai Leng a run for his credits, and saved the salarian councilor. And more importantly, the rest of us. Turians dream of going out like that.

[There's a pause.]

Shepard got him, by the way.

Yes. I had my successes.

[ It was, however, still an end.

And an answering pause, pride in his eyes and perhaps sorrow. ]

Did she? I thought she would. And - after?

And after that? Long story short we blew up the Reapers.

[Her voice is weary, but she's more than pleased to see him -- it carries into her tone. Shepard pauses for a moment and then smiles.]

Sometimes, when you've missed someone's face for just long enough, it counts as an improvement.

[ He's quite pleased to see her too, evident in the looseness of his shoulders, the slight tilt of his mouth. ]

Then perhaps there is some small improvement, if I can bring any happiness to you.

[She spends a long moment, quiet, like she's drinking the sight of him in, and then shakes her head ever so slightly.]

I think I can settle for more than a little happy. It's been a long and rough road. Seeing you, it helps probably more than you know.

[ He watches her in turn, quiet and still. It hasn't been very long for him, but still - before that it had been a long time. Too long. ]

I am sorry I ever departed. [ A step forward, a hand on her shoulder. ] It is very good to see you well, siha.

You had things to do, Thane. And I was grounded. There's no need for apologies, there never was. [But he's right, it was too long, and there wasn't ever enough time. Her own hand slides over his, thankful that he's solid and not some strange hallucination. Again, there's a slight shake of her head and a slightly rueful, crooked smile.]

Perhaps not. [ But he regrets it. Her hand is very warm, as it always is, and he smiles at her. They were never to have much time together, they both knew that. Somehow that did not truly serve to make it less bitter. ]

Peace. [Her fingers curled and tightened a fraction.] I'm working on it. There's so much in the way, but I keep trying.
