Somarium? Well, it's a dream world...thing. You're not dreaming but stuff you dream can come true. Of course, so can nightmares...

Dreams? That actually sounds kind of cool.

It really is, to be honest! But last Halloween, Mike dragged me into this place with a whole bunch of noctaere. Those are nightmare creatures, by the way.

Yeah. My mundane really manages to have too much time on her hands.

On the plus side, it doesn't look like you'll get bored any time soon.

What's the new place like?

Kinda weird. It's like a higher plane of existence or something where everyone learns how to manipulate reality so they can help make sure the different worlds run smoothly. Kinda like a multiverse maintenance crew, I guess.

Manipulate reality... Maintenance crew... That doesn't sound too far off from the stuff you do for us.

Well you can re-program a Kanebot faster than Texas can tie his shoelaces. That's sort of like manipulating reality... right? [might be fishing a little there, jules]

Okay, but it's still not the same as what these guys can do. You can make things out of thin air. You just focus on what you want and BAM. It's there.

That thing about being multiverse maintenance crew? That's one of them. That and once a month things go crazy in things called "reality storms". It's a side-effect of the power which is called...uh...

[Mun helpfully supplies a word.]

Bending.

Things or situations from different worlds of people there or who've been there previously can warp the place for a week. Sometimes it's based around holidays and other stuff, too. The last two storms were a control collar storm and this week's Valentine's storm.

Yikes. That definitely sounds worse than a normal storm and those aren't very fun to begin with.

Yeah. It made everybody wearing them all creepy calm. Like robots from what one of the muses in mun's headspace told me.

[Not the cat. He doesn't dare get within fifteen feet of her.]

Well... it doesn't sound like anybody got hurt. The storms are only temporary, right?

[One of them bit off his missing toe, Julie! He has good reason to be scared!]

[Chuck nods.] Yeah, they only last a week. Two tops.

Yeah. This one goes by the "ask mundane's permission" rule because some character plots involve dying. And my mundane is a sick human being who plotted with another mundane to have the person under their control kill the one under her control. Publicly. On camera.

...is Mike gonna be there with you?

[Shakes head.] No, though my mundane's sister keeps saying they need a Duke of Detroit there.
