Seems like no matter how hard I try it's never perfect. It wouldn't be good enough.

Well no, not without training. There are masters of everything out there. It is only a matter of finding them, and getting them to pay attention. Many masters only take apprentices for money. But in your case, since you would be seeking a master of art, they are often more swayed by ideal and not by money. Unless they are sold, in which case they are not worth your time.

I think, with art, many people will not like or appreciate what you do. What matters is that you enjoy what you are doing, and if it is how you plan to feed yourself, and your family if you have one, that you appeal to enough people that you are able to earn what you need to get by. Fame comes to few, but success comes if you work hard enough.

Sometimes you do not attribute the success entirely to your own efforts. Sometimes you are blessed by fortune and circumstance but...
