Ah, mundane. I'm quite happy to leave other dragons out of my affairs for now, be they black, red, or otherwise. I have no need for the so-called "Dragon Queen" to make an appearance in my life, thank you.
However, on the matter of humans, it seems that we agree.
As for your idea of writing out that particular scene, I'm afraid I must protest. Certainly, discovering I am unable to return home can be "handwaved", I believe it's called? That would suit me just as well.
At the very least, you could do me the kindness of locating a world with passable tea. I'm certain we could come to an agreement on this.

We're still in MSV. Working on Elegon- we missed a few weeks because holidays.
You'd be surprised at the life experience one gains outside of a castle. Why, it's like a completely different world!
I feel you're pain, same happen to us. You'll get it! :D
Books and scholars can only teach you so much.
[He admits with a knowing smirk that fades into an amused smile. If Wrathion is attempting to make him mad, it's not going to work. After all, he's now quite notorious for running off on his own.]
I am going to scoop your Anduin up and kidnap him for my game.
[It's interesting to see the spin they put on things, after all. What parts of history would the Alliance scholars gloss over?]
Perhaps we could come to an agreement, in exchange for a few of them, hmm?
[KNOWLEDGE HORDING GO.]
Oh my! If only I had time, but I can do memes and museboxes? :)
Perhaps, after all information is a powerful form of currency.
[Dragons and their hordes.]
I am not above bribery and extortion.
[You can learn a lot from having a network of spies at your disposal. But they tend to be ground-level facts, not the sorts of things that the ruling class believes.
If he's going to be expected to help the mortals, he needs to understand them.
A slight smile creeps over his face.]
And what would you desire, your highness? I'm certain you'll find me quite agreeable when it comes to the terms of the exchange. Perhaps you wish to enhance your little mace? Or, perhaps, better armor for when you find yourself in a spot of trouble?
[And there's an almost knowing smirk. Someone's heard about your misadventures, Anduin.]
((OOC: I don't have a musebox yet but I'll have to make one and I'll totally hit you up when I do. ARE YOU ON WOW TWITTERS/TUMBLR?))
You're certainly more entertaining than Garalon.
[He simply shakes his head.]
I want the opposite.
[What exactly? Well, for now he'll keep it to himself, because he's curious to know just how much Wrathion has been paying attention to his exploits.]
SQUISH THE BIGBUG. PUNCH HIM IN THE LEGBUTT.
[Oh, you are no wolf, are you?]
The Horde seems eager to return the favor.
More like heal all the raid members.
[Enough so that he frowns.]
I want peace for all people of Azeroth.
[He didn't risk his life just to save his own people from Garrosh's use of the Divine Bell.]
I for HAELR this expansion, too, but I'm having loads of fun on my locked 85 rogue. FANGS EVENTUALLY
[Anduin you're getting SASSED BY A BABBY.]
Peace would further my aims, as well...though, I doubt you could convince your followers to adopt your pacifism. Is it not human nature to fight and kill?
[He brings a hand to his chin, smirking a little. Riddle me that, Anduin.
All I ever do is heal. I'm a masochist.
You know all too well that there are more than just humans fighting back home.
[He teases in his own right, which is to say he's going to sit here and correct the wee baby dragon. He knows better than to lump every race on Azeroth in with humans.]
However, I don't see the underlying problem as the urge to fight and kill. Every race is out to better themselves in one way, sadly the greatest harm can result from the best intentions.
[Just look what he did to himself.]
I tanked in Cata. I like healing better. No offtank to deal with.
[Curious, Anduin. He turned that thought over in his head, applied it to the dragons, as he does. And his intent? Was it actually "good" where the mortals were concerned? Or was it selfish, centered around upholding his titanic imperative?]
And what of the past, then, of the Alliance and Horde war? It is true that both sides have worked together on some things, but even now, that is not always the case.
Woo finally off from work and rested.
[He explains, eyes aligning upward and coming to rest on the black dragon knowingly.]
The past...
[His gaze falls thoughtfully. Even Anduin has things in his past that he regrets. Still, something in his expression changes and comes to glow as he lifts his head to meet Wrathion's gaze confidently once more.]
We can not let past transgressions control where we go from here, because now is what matters.
sorry, could not brain last night.
You aren't called "good" for ordering the assassination of your family, best intentions in culling them or not.
He brought a hand to his chin, circling Anduin and watching him. Predatory, though he doesn't intent to intimidate. He watched closely, eyes bright.]
You are very curious, your highness. I wonder how your father would feel. You don't have the heart of a wolf that he does.
[He stops at Anduin's left side, looking over at him.]
I do wonder, what would happen were you to rule. Truly, not merely as a regent. The future has many interesting possibilities, indeed.
No worries.
My father and I do not often see eye to eye.
[He admits this with a tone of guilt. He wishes almost every day that he was stronger and a better father. Yet he knows, even now more so than before thanks to his instruction alongside Velen that his true path is the one he follows now.]
My strength is of a different kind and I will lead as any Wrynn King has before.
[He just hopes he won't have to any time soon. As much as he wants to see things change, he's also not ready to see Varian relieved of his duties as king and father.]
Incoming Wrathion TL;DR Monologue
[He smirked.]
Instinct, matters like that. Let us speak more than of humans. There are wars from before the time of men. Could it not be argued that it is instinct to fight? Or, rather, that one might be conditioned to it.
I ask you this- what becomes of the men and women who go to war? Do they come home and return to life, just as before, or do they fight for years, and it becomes part of their blood? What of the Death Knights, for example? What would become of their army, were it no longer needed? Would their living brothers and sisters welcome them back with open arms? Would they be able to carve out a life, in a time of peace?
Would you be able to convince your followers, ones who have fought for years, ones who only really know how to fight...what would become of them? Would they be able to lay down their arms? I do wonder.

Peace is not an easy goal to achieve and it is even more difficult to maintain.
[He pauses here to draw a slow albeit painful breath, because what he is about to admit does not entirely please him.]
It is doubtful that I would be able convince my followers of such and I am not certain I would wish to even ask. Armies do serve a purpose, as much as they can lay waste by invading, they can also be ordered to protect and save for the greater good.

He was far from a hero.
What he lacked in virtue he made up for in cold decisiveness. He did not hesitate to order his kind of be exterminated, and he did not mourn even Fahrad. His people were not the faithful and pious, but the practical and merciless rogues
The truth of it was like a gulf between them. Their goals were entirely separate things- Anduin wished for the people, for the mortals of their world. Wrathion's only concern with them was how they could serve him, and how they could further his goals of protecting the planet.
Good intent, possibly, but not entirely honest or selfless.]
And you would devote your armies to protecting? From what, exactly, if you have the peace you desire?
[You're a curious creature, Anduin Wrynn, though simple enough to understand. It was, perhaps, why he liked him, in a way. They were like two opposites, but similar in enough to relate, on a surface level. Mortal, and immortal. Selfless and selfish. Virtuous and ruthless.
Black and white.]
Would you, in theory, aim to protect Azeroth from those threats that would destroy her? Then, in this, you may consider me an unwavering ally.
no subject
That is not a theory, it is a fact. I would give my life if it meant saving this world.
[He would also do so willingly and gladly. His studies with Valen has shown him there are much more terrible things out in the dark who would do them harm.
Still, Wrathion's words make his smile grow.]
A strange choice of words for one so untrusting. Still, this place is as strange and unknown to me as the next. I am in need of friends... or allies as you put it.
no subject
But..."friends"? He turned the word over in his mind. He didn't have anyone he considered one. He had servants. He had bodyguards. He didn't have friends. In truth, he was more comfortable with people that whose loyalty he had bought. Friendship was an entirely odd concept.
That wasn't to say he didn't enjoy to company of mortals.]
No doubt Irie would be less than amused with you, your highness.
[He didn't exactly want to explain the overlarge lizard, nor why she was so cranky.]
I, however, am always looking for those who wish to protect Azeroth. She is more dear to me than I can express.
[In that, he spoke true. The need to protect Azeroth ran deeper in his blood than the simple desire to protect one's home.]
no subject
Irie?
[The name is repeated with a blink as he nods in as he put it earlier unwavering agreement.]
Well, you have my word - I will fight for her to my very last breathe.
no subject
[Nevermind the "soul" business.
He could ask more questions, but he will take Anduin's word for now. He wasn't entirely certain how he felt about Anduin's preoccupation with the mortals that inhabited Azeroth.]
Then it seems we are allies.
[A smirk.]
Do stay safe, won't you? It would be unfortunate if you found yourself in danger...again.
((OOC: Lemme know if you want to thread elsewhere! I MADE A MUSEBOX. And an alt Wrathion account so he's not AU'd because of a game like this one.))
no subject
[Some how he seems pleased to hear that Wrathion, where ever he has been sent is not alone. Friends no matter their shape or size are always needed.]
Ah - [He laughs, which of course has him wincing once again.] - I will do my best, but danger has a habit of finding me.
[The future is going to prove to be interesting considering he will be recovering within the Tavern of the Mists. Just how safe will be when remains at the Black Prince's side.]
(OOC: I'm up for whatever set up if you want to get something going. Throw me a link in PM when you get it written? :D )
