[Clutching her stuffed elephant to her chest, frowning. She's not sure about this being away from Mommy and Daddy business.]

I'll have friends to play with, now? [More frowning. She's not buying it.] Daddy says t'cause trouble.

[And she immediately tackles him for a hug, elephant in tow. She's happy to see a familiar face.]

[That gets a smile and he's hugging her back immediately, gathering her and her elephant up in his arms.] How have you been?

[She snuggles against him, very happy with this arrangement.] Good!

Keeping your father out of trouble? [He's happy with it as well, picking her up to take her over to his arm chair.]

Nope! [She's actually rather proud of that. He's taught her well.]

I see, so what sort of trouble has he gotten you into recently?

[A shrug as she wriggles some to get more comfortable against him.] He lets me do stuff, Mommy says we can't.

[He chuckles at that and lets her get more comfortable, 'oofing' slightly at the motion.] Uhuh, I can imagine that. What sort of things does he let you do?

[Another shrug, but she's finally settled against him, resting her head against his shoulder.] Lots of things.

[And he's happy enough to just hold her like that, looking at her with a smile.] Then tell me your favorite.

[She snuggles closer, and there's a brief moment of intense thinking.] Working.

Now why is that? [He doesn't mind the snuggling, in fact he loves it so it's perfectly fine by him.]

'Cause I'm learning stuff like Daddy.

That is true, yes. So besides causing trouble, what else do you learn with him?

He shows me how t'make stuff. [Nothing her father deems dangerous, but her mother often disagrees.]

What sort of things? [He's more likely to side with Helen then Nikola but he was curious.]

[She shrugs. She's not entirely sure what everything does. She just knows it's important. So instead, she holds up the elephant for his inspection.] He helps too.

[Well that's all that he cares about. And then he laughs at that, patting her elephant with a smile.] Oh really? And how does he do that? [Because it's important to her obviously.]

[She's very pleased with the attention being given to her companion. He has feelings too, after all.] Watches, mostly. [She pulls the elephant back to her chest, hugging him close.] Daddy says he's bad help.

[He's happy she's happy really. And he pats her elephant before he holds them both close.] That I can believe, but I don't believe that. But watching is important. What does he do though when he's not watching?

He helps me know what Daddy wants. [Sometimes, Nikola isn't the easiest to understand.] But he's wrong mostly.

Oh? Well then maybe your father should speak more clearly for you and him to understand. [He understands the frustration, really he does.]

That's what Mommy says.

Indeed, and your mother is very wise.

[She giggles as she squirms in his lap again. She's really not very good at sitting still.]

Play with me.

[It's more of an order than a request, something he can blame on her father later.]
