We have these monsters called the Heartless. You think you control them, but in actuallity, they're controlling you. Eventually, they steal your heart and turn you into a Heartless.

And what about Unversed? Or Nobodies?

Steal your heart? Seriously? Geez, even Ghost-type Pokemon aren't THAT twisted!

Oh yeah. And then there's nobodies. Pretty much the result of a Heartless stealing your heart. A nobody is basically the empty shell left behind. Some are human, others... not so much.
