You want to know why people are worried? One; the Scarab augments natural abilities, your strength and agility are greatly increased while wearing the armor, it accommodates Martian physiology and shape-shifting. It's very logical that it could amplify psychic powers as well. You didn't hear anything off in M'gann's voice when she said that?

Two; I can't find any kind of info on this guy in your world, or any other. He is an entirely unknown entity wearing a scarab built by the Reach and didn't have the benefit of Ted Kord's tinkering to keep it from fully taking over.

Three; he conveniently shows up while the team was scrambling to get away from the farm and effortlessly fends off Black Beetle, something that the entire team combined couldn't manage, and just happened to know the exact frequencies to counter the Scarab's armor.

If there's one thing I've learned from Batman, it's that if something seems too good to be true, it is.

The armor should still work though. Even if the Scarab isn't talking. I feel safer this way. The Green Beetle silenced his Scarab and his armor still works perfectly.

Look, I get that we don't know a thing about him but if Miss M didn't mean what she said, why say it at all? And he told us about the Reach additive. And he needed me to help take down Black Beetle. Nothing Alpha was doing was working. Without him we'd be dead. I get that you don't want to trust him but I feel like I can.

Did he really silence his Scarab, or can he not tell the difference between his thoughts and what the Scarab is telling him to do anymore?

M'gann had a lot on her mind. Not to mention she's still fairly young, and this was a fully matured Martian. It's possible that he used some sort of telepathy to either make her see what she wanted to in his mind, or force her to say that without her realizing.

Don't be blinded by what you want to see. If someone like Martian Manhunter can verify his story, I would accept it. And, if it turns out to be right on, that'd be great. But until then, we can't trust anyone that isn't an official part of the team.
