[It's hard to notice anything but the blue at first: from her hair to the uniform. The rest is dark, from the markings on her short-skirted uniform and tall boots, to her too-dark eyes.]

Yes; that girl I was already died. [Metaphorically, but no less true. The divide between then and now is too big.]

And what if I am? [Hands on hips as he leans forward, griiinning. That second remark makes him frown and straighten up pretty quick, though.] Hey, don't talk like that! You have a lot of people who care about you out here and brooding isn't good for you, y'know. You'll get wrinkles and gray hair and... [He grins, tugging on a piece of Riku's hair; it's silver, technically, but--] Well, you're already half-way there.

[Riku pauses and just stares, before he smiles faintly and ruffles Sora's hair.] If I get any wrinkles, it's thanks to you.

H-Hey! [He swats half-heartedly at Riku's hair-ruining hand. Not that Sora looks any different with ruffled hair.] No, man-- I prevent wrinkles. If it weren't for me, you'd be standing on your porch, waving a cane at us whippersnappers. [He pauses.] Or maybe throwing fireballs is more your style?

Thank you for saving me from that awful fate, Sora. [he raises his eyebrows.] And burn my own porch down? That's more your style.

Just try not to bump into anything. That tends to happen in the dark.

[B'dum, tsh. Man, snarking at himself is weird.]

Only if you're dumb enough to go running into things.

[Something about this younger him intrigues him though. The snarking doesn't catch him off guard. It's something else, something different.]

What happened to you?

Oh, not much. Just got dragged around by two wise guys looking for their King.

[It's said so casually, too, like it's completely normal. Riku might catch that this Riku still has that darkness festering in his heart; it's just suppressed, for the most part.]

Got into some trouble, but what else is new?

[He's really trying to hide the fact that he's been a... pretty lousy Keybearer in many regards. Left Kingdom Hearts wide open, failed to save a world full of kids being turned into donkeys. Fun stuff.]
