Wait, wait, just wait, a second, would you?
Let me get this straight. You want to send me to a "muse" box? But not just any box, another different Atlantis?
I hate to break it to you, but I've studied the subject for years, and I happen to know a thing or two about it. For instance... there's only one Atlantis, and it wouldn't fit in any box.
...Maaaybe it would be best if we just went our separate ways. No offense to you, but I don't see this... intellectual partnership working out between us.

Perhaps it's not the Atlantis you know, but another place entirely. It would hardly be the first time some land has been newly discovered and improperly named, would it?
no subject
[Well, doesn't he feel sheepish?]
I guess not. You have a very valid point. I didn't even think to consider that.
no subject
Perhaps what they need is someone to set the record straight, eh?
no subject
Wait, no, what am I saying? I-I can't just go to some new place! I have somewhere I need to be... the real Atlantis. There's no way I can just up and abandon it.

[Suddenly, Milo is very uncomfortable. That is not something he wanted to hear.]
no subject
no subject
I mean, I'm no scientist, but I'm pretty sure that's impossible...
no subject
no subject
[Come, speak science. Milo might not be an astronomer or a physicist, but he's capable of understanding to some degree.]

Every decision causes a split in reality, due to the opposing decision that could have been made. Every action and inaction can change it. In one reality, Atlantis sank. In another, it was destroyed by one of their gods. In another, it survived but their gods were destroyed.
Do you understand?
no subject
L-look, I'm not trying to dissuade you from believing in it; I mean, nothing has ultimately been proven. But... I just don't see how something so advanced -so precise and unique as Atlantis- could have a double.
no subject
Then let me ask you this: What do you know about Atlantis?
no subject
I don't want to toot my own horn but... I'm kind of an expert.
[That doesn't mean he's about to give too much away, though; he has to keep Atlantis and Kida as safe as possible, after all.]
no subject
Let's start with the culture.
[And Ash has to keep Atlantis a secret. For his own sake and his mothers.]
no subject
A-ahem. That's... a pretty broad topic in of itself. There's the language, the communal way of living, the belief system, the familial units, the government system, and so on and so forth.
no subject
Pick whichever one you feel like talking about. I found their belief system rather interesting.
no subject
[You do not add up, strange sir.
Frankly though, Milo doesn't believe this odd man could know a single thing about the lost empire under the sea, the Heart of Atlantis, how it's a living being, or how it interacts with the people. No one who survived the voyage there would dare tell of it. Simply, he can't help but wonder why someone would act as if they have knowledge that simply isn't available.]
no subject
[Oh look, Acheron's not-so-subtle way of saying Milo is either a crackpot or doesn't know what he's talking about.]
no subject
[Like the kindly gentleman up above pointed out.]
We're clearly interested in very different places.
no subject
It wasn't misnamed. I lived there for half of my life before it was destroyed in a goddesses fit of rage.
no subject

Atlantis was never "destroyed." Sure, some of it was submerged, but that's it.
[Well, there was the whole thing with Rourke that nearly destroyed it, but Milo sure as heck won't be going into any of that.]
no subject
Hi!
no subject
...Hello...?
no subject
no subject
what
Can Milo attempt to touch him? He's going to try anyways. Poor bloke's never seen a hologram before.]
Oh, no, no, no. See, that's what most people think, but it's actually real... a-and it has a living, thriving culture, even in this day and age.
no subject
Do you have proof of this? [Would Jarvis be able to find anything on Milo if he looked his face up in his database? Maybe his degrees or where he went to school?]
no subject
I, er, yes, I do, actually. [To the handy dandy satchel, away~. He pulls out the Shepard's Journal and a necklace with a small, glowing crystal.] This is the only proof I have on me, I'm afraid.
[He holds it out for a moment before realizing that the man probably can't physically hold the objects.] Um... [Instead, he flips to a page with a diagram.] See, it says here how to find Atlantis; the entrance is essentially like the grease trap in your sink. If... you have a sink...
[AHEM.
And yes, Jarvis would find quite a bit of information on Milo. "1893- Milo Thatch graduates from Buford Beaumont High School. 1895- He accepts (and declines) admission to Harvard, Yale, and Princeton Universities for advanced academic studies. 1896- begins a tenure at Oxford University, earning a double doctorate in Linguistic Theory and Dead Languages. 1903-1904- works as a Museum Linguist/Translator and Cartographic Restoration Expert in Washington D.C. 1909-1910- participates in an Academic Exchange Program, working in Paris at the Bibliotech National and the Prado Museum in Madrid."
Those are actual facts from the bonus features on the DVD.]no subject
[He looks to the journal, scanning it and reproducing the pages as holographic screens that pop up around him. The screens easily manipulated by humans, Mr. Stark uses them often.] How did you come by this journal?
[The crystal, however, is a little difficult to scan.] What is that? [Jarvis points to it.] I am unable to scan it. There is an unidentifiable energy signature.
[
Got to love bonus features.Ah, good. Now he has a name to put with the face. This isn't a con artist by any means, he is a certified academic.]no subject
H-how... how are you doing that?
[He reaches out to touch one of the screens, though stops short, looking down at the necklace in his hand.]
Well, you see... it's a part of the heart of Atlantis. It's a power source, part of their deity, the spirit of their past, a part of them... I'm not entirely sure how to explain it.
no subject
I am an 8th generation AI computer system. I am fully capable of cataloging 50 pages a second when it comes to archival books.
no subject
Cataloging, right, right... 50 is a good number-
[Mostly.]
W-wait, wait! A what now? A-a-and fifty pages a second?!
no subject
[Most were not used to interactive holoscreens so Milo's interest is not unusual.]
no subject
Milo will let the screen go for the moment.]
So... what's a computer system? I-I mean, I know you just said you, are but... is that some sort of government term for something?
no subject
Which would you like me to define? Computer, system, or artificial intelligence itself?
MY BEST SHOT? **YOU BETCHA.**
Very little of it makes sense to me. [ Haha, museboxes, the hardest thing to explain to anyone ever. ] But another Atlantis?
<3<3<3
[...Wait a second.]
Kida! Wh-what are you doing out here?
[Not that he isn't happy to see you; he's thrilled! However, he's also concerned, hearing talk about a lack of free will in these parts.]
no subject
I am greeting you on behalf of my mundane. What does it look like I am doing?
[ Come on Milo you were asking for that. ]
no subject
[What what what]
I don't know, walking around a place that's probably horribly dangerous with people pulling strings who can't be fought off? How long have you been here?
[He's allowed to worry, okay?]
1/2
2/2
[ No seriously she's not kidding. ]
Yes. Another you. There have been a few 'you's. All of them, one in the same.
[ It'll make sense eventually. ]
no subject
[Not sure if want.]
I guess another Atlantis might not be that far fetched if that's true...
no subject
Technically.
I have spoken with myself on several occasions, as well as you.
Which is why I am curious. What kind of Atlantis, what is so different?
no subject
[And goes against all logic. Milo doesn't much like it.]
I'm not entirely sure what this "other Atlantis" is all about. Mundane won't exactly tell me anything... something about it being a surprise. I have a feeling it won't be a "happy birthday" kind of surprise.
[DINOSAURS, KIDA. DINOSAURS.]
