apped to amat.
You've sent it. You've actually sent it. After all of that - you went ahead with it. Right. Well. I suppose I should accept my fate like an adult and-- [ big pause as he reels around pointing a finger up towards the sky ] actually, no, not feeling that, it's a bit too grown up for me and you sent it? You were practically buzzing with that doubt and uncertainty, but you went ahead with it anyway?
Right, well, you're clearly far too impulsive to be my mun.
I'm choosing this moment to run away, and you can't stop me. Look, here I go.
Running.
[ Yeah, he's not going anywhere. ]
Well, this puts me in a bit of an awkward position. Or several awkward positions, I don't care for terminology- why did you send it? We need to have a very serious talk about this, only not now, because I'm going to give you the silent treatment first. I hear that's very effective. Right, here I go.
Right now. Being silent.
[ He gestures zipping his lips, bouncing to and fro on the balls of his feet, biting his lips to make sure he stays silent. He lasts all of thirty seconds before he takes a big breath in and scowls. ]
Only this isn't a good idea, and I've told you that already - you know this isn't a good idea, and yet here we are, waiting on a reply that will either make or break your confidence. You should have thought about this properly; I know you didn't, I'm up here and I know your thoughts and you're just distracting yourself from things. Important things. Things that need your attention. You can't run forever, you don't even have forever, look at you, you've got about sixty years in you. You're human! Go do human-y things, like portfolios and life drawing and whatever else you artists do.

It's fine! Everything's fine.

[She smiles, revealing some too-sharp teeth and moves her glasses up to sit on top of her head. Red eyes. Not so human.]
Eating celery isn't an option for all of us running on linear time.

[River obviously thinks this is a good idea]
Hang onto your bowtie, sweetie.

[ Because the Doctor is CLASSY. None of that PDA stuff. He can't handle any of that. It's a bit too - you know, showy. He's showy but not that showy.
Instinctively he takes a hold of his now tie, frowning. ]
Why? Oh, have you realised just how cool my bow tie is? Well, you should have listened when you had the chance. You can't have it, it's mine.
[ HE KNOWS WHAT YOU MEAN SHHHH. ]

[River has that grin on her face, the one that tells him she's not listening to a word he's saying]
I don't want your bowtie. It's a fashion travesty.
[YOU KNOW WHAT SHE MEANS]
I hope you like my doctor ;A;/ NO ICON DONT DO THAT
[ RULES ARE GOOD. AND YOU ARE MEAN. ]
I- you- well, River Song, I'm hurt. What did my bow tie ever do to you?
I think he's cute already
[There's that look again. The one that suggests her thought processes aren't entirely pure right now. It's faintly predatory. Watch out for that legendary Pond libido, Doctor]
Oh hush.
[She reaches to straighten his bow tie for him, there was something faintly affectionate about such a simple gesture, like she'd done it hundreds of times before]
It's not all bad. It did serve a purpose.
[In their hurried ceremony]
Aaaah what does that meeean
I refuse to be wobbly. It's not me. I'm much more a wibbly.
[ She tells him to hush and he does immediately, watching her affectionately straighten his bow tie and it's relaxing, it's nice and instinctively he leans in, because it has been done hundreds of time before. There's a small smile, casually leaning in further just because he can. Because it's classy and that's precisely what he is. CLASSY.]
Boundaries.
You play him well! <3
No promises. I've been there for a year now and you know I was never very discreet to begin with.
[This is the woman who announced herself to be a screamer in front of her future husband and her parents. Granted no one in that party knew it yet, but still]
I suppose if gets your bow tie in a knot, I could try.
really? i feel like i might be missing somehting
A year. [ That takes away his smile, and he steps close if only to inspect her; she's tired and it's probably all of that linear time that's doing it. He's going to hate it there, naturally. Collared like pets - a torture technique to lower self confidence.
And he can't run. That's what he'll hate the most. ]
You'll have to show some restraint. I'd be new. Angry.
[ Will she be prepared for that? ]
No, don't worry about it! Seriously
[She knows how to gauge his best and worst moods, but it's been so long since she's seen her Doctor, she's a bit rusty]
I've helped lots of people adjust to this place. I can pretty much guess how you're going to react.
[She's seen it twice over now from his other selves]
BREATHES
[ Anger especially! Everything about Atia is wrong. The time is completely screwed up, it's running in ways the Doctor's never seen before. He wants nothing to do with it, nothing at all.
But River and his TARDIS... he can't not. ]
I expect excellent hosting skills.
/pats
[Except for when he leaves, any of his versions/regenerations. It's always almost enough to crush her rebellious spirit]
I'll do my best, sweetie. TARDIS can be a bit....difficult to deal with.
[Mostly because River doesn't let her walk all over her. Yeah, they had their cat fights from time to time]
But she seems to react best to you.

You're coming back!

[ Rassilon, this was the last thing he expected. And then there's hugging, lots of that, hugging all over the place. ]
