tentatively searching idk
So you're seeking a new beginning as well... interesting. Perhaps I won't be the only one sporting such an extravagant moniker anymore.
But do keep your previous mistakes in mind, Mundane. You wouldn't want the past repeating itself, now would you? That would simply lead to the coming of a second disaster which I'm quite certain neither of us can afford.
And please, get some rest already. Not even I push myself this hard.

You're doomed. ]
I never asked you to forget, nor to forgive. I only asked you to understand.
And there is quite a difference between the two.
no subject
Oh, is that all you wanted? Why didn't you just say so in the first place. ]
I don't!
[ Naturally. ]

[ Kids these days with their Gundams and their Newtypes and their ideals that don't involve dropping entire colonies onto planets. What has this world come to?
Gundam Unicorn OVA FINAL: Char Reloaded: Revenge of the Char can't get here soon enough. ]

No. If I thought like you, I'd just be letting him down. I'd be letting them all down!

...admittedly the colony/meteor/Axis/large object drop approach is getting kind of stale, though. He'll look into into more creative tactics in the future. ]
Are you that concerned with what others think that you'd overrule your own personal desires? Or, perhaps you had none to begin with? An empty vessel to be filled by the wishes of the people you admire most...
[ He cracks a mocking smirk. ]
Wouldn't that be an ironic twist of fate, Banagher Links?

So what am I supposed to say? "That's war" and forget about it? About the terrible things that happen to either side because that's just what happens when there's fighting going on? [ He is so easy to get worked up you're a bad person and you should feel bad. ] How can you say you're doing anything for them when you're just using them! Like Miss Marida...!
[ ...Even if that was partially his bad in not being able to rein in the Unicorn. He bites off his tirade and swallows it back. ]
I'm... not like you.

Pacifist rhetoric is still rhetoric, Banagher. Once you set foot upon a podium and start proclaiming how the world should be, you're every a bit a political animal as those you condemn... and therefore every bit as flawed.
[ Leaning forward, just to remind him how very short, how very small he is compared to an adult. ]
You wade knee deep in the very same war you despise. Who were you, even, before this conflict began? If you can answer me that, then perhaps you're correct.
But if you cannot, then don't preach to me about the so-called righteousness of your cause. I know this battlefield far better than you do.
what if i just tagged you everywhere
Nothing--no one is without flaws. [ He can't help but be subdued by logic, not out of agreement, but because everything he feels is so very illogical, and he doesn't yet know how to leverage them. The word is there: Newtype... but not the bravery to say it. ] Me, or you, or the world. I know that! But it's wrong to exploit them just because you know what kind of war you're trying to start.
[ Where he does not. The lay of the land--of war in space--is not something he'd be proud to admit, even if he did. Many have gone into battle for him and just the blood of those few personal losses on his hands have changed him forever. En masse? There's no way. ]
Your kind of understanding... that light you're leading them towards is dangerous. I feel it.
iyan banana-kun don't tag me there..........
[ A simple statement, and all he needs to say to completely disassemble Banagher's argument, really. You're just a child playing at being an adult. A hatchling who has yet to spread its wings and fly. Teetering over the edge, intimidated by the drop.
Doe-eyed prey for an experienced predator. ]
How much longer will you insist on fumbling blindly in the dark? [ He'll just keep digging in the blade deeper, until Banagher's had enough. If he really wanted a taste that badly. ] From beginning to end, life is fraught with dangers. It is the light of guidance, of a uniting ideal, that allows us to continue on, to advance and evolve.
Without it, we may as well return to shivering in caves, being hunted by beasts.
i'll be gentle........
[ Whoops how does he know that. Does he know that for certain? ]
Are you really content to just be some kind of vessel?! I'm not. If I have to find my way through the dark to prove I'm not just some key, that the Unicorn can stop this, I'll do it! I'm...
[ What is he? Why is he here?
Audrey. ]
I'm not alone.
your unicorn is sugoi desu ne
[ A convenient way of dodging the question, but Banagher just may have sparked something within Frontal himself. Something brief, like bitterness, barely noticeable, but undeniably present.
It's also accompanied by the irritation a father might exhibit in disciplining a particularly ornery child—and in his young life, Banagher had ornery down to an absolute science. ]
We stand on the precipice of something great, and you would choose to throw it all away on a romantic notion, the naïve inclinations of a girl. What sort of person does that make you, swayed by emotion, blind to reality? What sort of man?
kakkoi is encoded into my shounen dna
I'm not blind to it. She's my reality. And she'll do what you can't.
uguuuu it's like my sinanju is moving on its own
[ He takes a step forward, sensing challenge. This is your chance, Banagher. Lay it all on the line. ]
What is it that you would so gladly live and die for?

[ If Full Frontal was the Second Coming of Char, then Banagher speaks, unwittingly, as the rebirth of Amuro Ray. He can feel the echo of those words in his bones and in his heart, unearthed from some part of him he hadn't known existed.
Char Aznable's legacy ends with you. ]

Frontal's hand reaches up suddenly, but it's not to strike Banagher, as it might appear. It's to remove the mask.
Just like before, the face of Char Aznable is there to greet him. ]
You know how it ended the last time, [ with a strange sort of gentleness ] don't you, Gundam?
[ Our legacies end as one. ]
no subject
The Red Comet.
Banagher looks at him squarely now, still not entirely unbelieving that he is Char Aznable, but not convinced, all the same. The same stirring tells him differently, those vague and nebulous kinetics that have bound them together with means he has no words to describe. ]
Gundam...? [ His fingers dig into his palms, wishing to grasp at that gentleness, uproot it, tear it down and look at the pieces. ]

[ Exhaustion passes through his expression. Resignation. Bickering with the boy always managed to drain him; it was like beating one's head against a brick wall, except this wall stood between him and everything he stood to gain. The final barricade to obtaining the box.
The key he had to win over at any cost. ]
If you continue down this road, you'll surely vanish within the atmosphere. [ And thus Banagher's question from before is now answered. Flickers of sentimentality yet exist within this man's heart, however minute. ] And her hopes will vanish with you. Are you truly prepared for that possibility?
no subject
The breath he's been holding in releases itself. ]
Don't say that like you know it's going to happen. Whatever your fate was--[ ...Is? ]--I'm not going to live being afraid of that. Possibility is what I'm fighting for. Not some outcome that's already been decided.
[ And there it is, the delicate edge of something that can only be called reckless sympathy. ]
uses this icon because
And then he smiles, faintly, mask in his hands, memories that aren't his floating to the surface of his mind. ]
The weight of the Universal Century really is too much for someone like you.
[ Sympathy Banagher receives in turn—the sort a lion would give an antelope before severing its head. But it is sympathy nonetheless, a softer light to one who was nearly all hard edges. ]
ooh mr frontal ooh
...Even so.
I'll icon the rest of the OVAs one of these days I swear...
[ His tone is lighter now, teasing in a way it hadn't been before. Less fatal, at any rate, and more acknowledging that, at least for the time being, he won't be bringing the boy over to his side. Fair enough.
Just as he'd forewarned earlier, there's plenty of time left until the final chapter closes. ]
That's what you were going to say, was it not? How strange she'd become so smitten with one so dubiously straightforward.
[ A quiet laugh. ] Youth works in mysterious ways, I suppose.
3x more luxurious locks need their representation
Strange... so what, if it is?
I obviously need more variations of smug.jpg and evensmugger.jpg
Just try not to waste it, Banagher. [ Looking him over passively. ] There is nothing more fleeting in this world than one's childhood. You should cherish it... while you can.
the perfect response to genericshounengrief.jpg of course
[ Pieces of a broken wish for the future that had survived the plummet to Earth, against all odds. Those precious fragments not destroyed by gravity or the heartless void of space. Banagher looks up, feeling as if he is attempting to sever a tie rather than establish one by meeting his gaze. A man that was supposed to be his rival. He steps back. ]
So, thank you for the advice. [ Oddly, he means that. ] But I don't need it.
more like AUDREYAUDREYAUDREY.jpg am i rite????
He didn't have the answer for Char, and he didn't have the answer for Banagher, either. ]
I'd say I look forward to meeting you on the battlefield, but that's a little callous, even for me. [ And back on the mask goes, the fleeting connection broken. Just as he wished. ] My wishes remain the same. That one day, we will stand together rather than fight opposed. Unnecessary bloodshed is not my aim, after all.
[ A lion and a unicorn together...
He has to wonder. ]
