Now this is familiar. I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised though. I've been gone for awhile and you usually prefer other people's takes on me, if I remember right. [Small laugh.] Not that I'm complaining, it's nice to stretch my limbs and get a little freedom.

Still, I have to wonder at your motivations. Missing someone with manners and a sleep disorder? Those really can't be the best reasons.

At least you're having fun trying to write an app, just make sure you're not being too rash about this. Only one of us gets to be the hothead around here, and I've got the fire to back it up, and you don't. Besides, weren't there other things you were planning to do?

And as for the screen name, I'm not sure anyone will get that reference. Vista doesn't count, his mun came up with it.

I wouldn't quite use those words...

But yeah. Usually I'd call security, or scare them down with my words.

Though now I wonder, what kinds of companions do you and your brother have?

Fire user? In my world I'm almost the only one, one of my brothers is a phoenix, but his flames are different. But I've met a lot of different fire users around here and old places.

Words scare them? Really?

Heh. Pirates. On both accounts. But Luffy's nakama in question is named Sanji. He's a real ladies' man. All about protecting them and everything.

I understand the protecting part. [Though, for him, it was more than just women...] Everyone has something, right? Whether by fire or a few well placed words, there's always something to protect.

'Fire user' works, and we have something in common. Back home I'm also the only one...but I haven't had the pleasure of meeting others who use flames in any way. But, that's life.

...Piracy, huh? That sounds almost romantic. Some of the girls would love hearing about that!

Definitely. Protecting is the most important part of fighting. If you're not protecting something worthwhile, what are you even fighting for?

And yea, it is impossible. The others like me back home all have different, unique talents. My rival controls water, and one of my housemates can make plants obey her by willpower alone. We're all different, but we all have something that we need to protect.

Yeah really? Luffy's made of rubber, and like I mentioned that Marco's a phoenix. Oh! And Jozu's made of diamond! And Blamenco pulls hammers out of his chins. No one controls water though... at least not with a devil fruit. A few people could probably fight with it in other ways though.

All of these powers are because of 'devil fruit'? Ha. My mundane and that brat are laughing at me for not knowing, but can you explain that?

...And yes, in a way we are all protecting the same thing. We do it differently, but the idea is the same.

Yeah, no problem! And you should tell them to shut up. Devil fruit are really rare even in my world! And I've never heard of them outside of it. Devil fruit are pretty much like they sound though. They're literally fruit that are cursed. You eat one and you get a unique power for life, but you're cursed to drown too and the ocean rejects you. No more swimming, you just sink.

Ah... can I ask what you're protecting? If that's not too personal?

Nakama who can swim. Luckily one of my brothers is a shark fishman so he's pulled me out of the water dozens of times. He's in this post. The one that likes to nom on his brothers. [Grins. He freaking loves Namur okay.]

Ah.... [Love? What?] I'll take your word on it. Mine is family, so it's kind of similar... maybe.

Oh, so you've got some weird ones too! My housemates like to compete with eachother for the affections of another, so it can't be that different.

[He laughed.]

Family sounds about right. Many of these partnerships we enter into become something like family.

Yup! That sounds about right. Mostly we just show off to get Pops' attention, but he's pretty good about loving all of us equally. Us commanders can get a little rowdy sometimes though. [He laughs.] We're pirates, so yeah, it's to be expected.

Nakama then. [Serious nod. He will forever and always be super shounen about this.] Good, that's the best thing to protect if you ask me.
