Space.
It is like a big long black blanket that someone poked holes in. I've never really thought much about it. With my back to back cases, I was far too busy.
My days now always start with a cup of joe. That is... until Officer Davis arrived to the scene. I knew what he wanted. To get me back to the force.
But those days are over. I was retired.
"BMO. There is something that you should know."
"Save it, Officer Davis. Whatever it is, I am not interested."
"I know. After what happened with Lorraine, I can't blame you."
... Lorraine. It was like almost yesterday that I saw her face and that bright red lipstick of hers.
"What is it that you want, Officer Davis?"
"Have you read the papers? It's about your friends."
That caught my attention.
"My friends?"
"It is all over the news. They're... stuck in space."
"Space?! But -- But that's impossible!!"
"See for yourself."
I could not believe my eyes when I saw that post. There was no doubt about it. They were stuck to that place like sticky forever glue. And there was only one thing to do.

"BMO, where are you going?"
"Where else, Officer Davis? I am going to reach for the stars."
