I get that you want to 'get me right' before you decide if you're going to send me to a new world, but are you sure this is a good idea? I've got responsibilities I need to live up to back in my own world, I can't stick around for no reason when there's work to be done. You know every Keyblade wielder counts, do you really think sending me to a new world is what's best for everyone right now?
And I don't know what you're getting at with the user name either but you can stop giggling.

What? You're not tough enough to take it?

I wasn't expecting to see you here, but it seems like you've got a weird habit of showing up like this.

What's wrong with your username?

[Sora's pretty sure he gets it. Besides the general meme regarding Batman, he assumes it relates to one of Riku's link styles and the little bat wings it gives him.]
no subject
[It might just have something to do with all of that, and the fact that she found a batcave for him in Traverse Town and couldn't stop giggling.]

Where to start in explaining it all to Riku though. That's something he's not sure of at all. He knows, somehow, he shouldn't want Riku to be 'stuck' with them, but he does want to see him again. And for more than just a day or two. He misses him. He misses Kairi.
He misses home.
Always one to appreciate the moment, Sora wouldn't exchange what he's found with Roxas - and even if recurrent, with Ventus - not for a second. Not at all. But maybe - no, definitely, with his friends, yes, Sora may be...well, selfish.
The idea that he could see Riku again, after looking for him for so long is beyond words.
Still, he tilts his head at the text, brows raised. ]
I dunno, as I recall, you are a little batty.
[ He says it jokingly, but it really has been...a long time, long enough that 'recall', though used exaggeratedly, isn't much of an exaggeration at all.
More sincerely though, a shuffled follow up: ]
You could...though. You know, come where we are.
It's neat. Reminds me of some of the other places we've been.
And you wouldn't have to worry about ...the other places. Time stops at home. Well, I mean, we go back to the same part we left.
[ He stops rambling only because for once he actually realizes he's rambling. ]

[The same good natured feeling is shot back at Sora as he folds his arms over his chest in mock annoyance and looks away with a smile.]
You can be kinda batty yourself at times.
[Still... all that talk about time stopping makes him feel uncomfortably ill at ease, remembering a round room with thirteen white thrones and a decidedly not-batty Sora slumped in one. It's a different type of time stopping, but it still reminds him of the job he has to do.]
Are you doing okay there? You've not got your butt into too much trouble without someone to get on your case about it?
no subject
Well, there's that saying: takes one to know one.
[ He's about to say something else but stops when Riku beats him to it. His eyes widen, a slight quirk to his brow. On face value it's a jibe, sure, but even being almost recursively apart doesn't change what growing up as best friends gave them: a sense of knowing. ]
Sure -- I mean, no, [ he waves a hand briefly, emphatically. ] I mean. Yeah I'm okay and no I'm not getting into trouble.
I should be asking you that.
What...what've you been doing? How's...how's Kairi?[ His voice softens a little with that last inquiry. He knows 'here' wherever 'here' is, it's not like with the City where time is supposed to stop outside. Riku could be from any time.
He looks different. Sora wonders if he thinks the same of him. ]
no subject
[He lets his arms drop and nudges Sora gently on the arm with his elbow. Better to tell him about the positives rather than scare him about the very real threat that the Xehanorts possess and how Kairi and the light she embodies could be in danger even now as one of the Princesses. Kairi would smack him for worrying Sora unnecessarily anyway.]
We've been busy where I've come from, just got back from another adventure where I wound up bailing your butt out of trouble again. You're welcome, by the way.
[He's trying to make light of it, even though it still seems mind blowing to think that all of that has just happened and at the end of it all, Sora's safe, Xehanort's plans and the inevitable confrontation loom on the horizon and he, Riku, of all people, has been deemed worthy to bear the title of Keyblade Master.
Yeah. Kind of a lot to go through.]
I'm glad you're okay.
no subject
He returns the bump to his arm with one of his own, though his elbow ends up nudging against Riku's side instead. It's true that if he knew of the things Riku doesn't tell him, he'd be more worried and it would be useless (though he'd spend his time in the City working against that thought too, trying to find what no one to record has necessarily found when trying: a way out.) At least in this time and place it may be the truth too: some things don't need to be rushed to be shared.
Again he scrutinizes his best friend a little, tilts his head and half mock leans away as if trying for a better perspective - literally - before leaning upright again, quiet a tic longer. ]
You did? [ He wonders which trouble it was, brow arching again even as he goes on to add, ] I miss you. You and Kairi.
Um.
Hey, by the way--
[ Maybe he rushes on a bit after all, reaching to bat, cat-like, at the taller boy's hair. ] When'd this happen?
[ -90000 POINTS for observation powers, Sora.
Somehow that's...probably not surprising. ]

And, uh... I don't really get it either. Gosh Darn Batku? .. I think she's calling you a bat?
no subject
Oh wait. It seems he's made that same mistake he made on the beach again.]
I can kinda see why she'd want to bring up the bat thing, just not why she thinks it's so funny.
[And he sighs. Girls man, how do they work.]
I don't think I can take a break. I've got responsibilities that I can't ignore and people I need to protect.
Hey... who are you? I think you're someone I'm meant to know, but I don't remember ever meeting you.
no subject
A break never hurts anyone, especially if no time passes while you're taking it. I mean, it's not like you're ignoring your responsibilities, but you can't really do that while you're in the City, right? So why worry?
[ this time, he takes a longer while to reply, eyeing Riku critically. ]
I'm Ventus. ... Uh, I don't think I've ever met you? [ because he's from BBS. ] You sure you're not talking about Roxas? We look pretty similar-- well, really similar.
no subject
[If Riku's at all honest, he's still so new to his title that he's not 100% sure on what his new responsibilities entail, but he is a Master and that is nothing to be sniffed at, of that he's certain.]
I... have met you, or an echo of you... I'm not sure how but it was you. You and Roxas and a girl I don't know. I thought you were Roxas but you're not him.
[Your face is more open for starters.]
Sorry, I'm not making much sense am I?
no subject
Sorry, I.. don't really know what you're talking about. [ it's nice that you can tell them apart, though. ]
Not really, no. Maybe I'd know if you told me where we met?
