This may not set your mind at ease, but I would venture to say that all three are well-represented, or close enough. Of course, peace of mind isn't exactly something men in our line of work tend to seek out. Rather takes the fun out of everything.

I have a number of unpopular opinions about said dragons, but by and large, I suppose it's worth mentioning that most will not harm you. They may not do much to help you, either, but you'll be safe enough. From them, anyway.

"Preservation of life" is said to be the name of the game, and with that, the powers-that-be have seen fit to include beasts from various realms. Apparently, they felt the Necrohol of Nabudis was worth saving, of all places.

I remain skeptical.

But the Necrohol of Nabudis? Why even save that place when there's nobody there? [It's an exciting location, to be sure, but saving ruins of all things doesn't seem to make much sense.]

It's not the only piece of Ivalice that has been brought over, but one I rather wish they'd left behind. It's caused more than it's share of trouble already -- and not the enjoyable sort. How well do you remember Chaos?

Chaos? [He's from before that fight, whoops.] We'd only arrived at Nabudis recently. After the Pharos.

We were still exploring the area.

[Vaan may, in fact, be better off not having experienced such a battle, to be honest.]

Rest assured, you didn't miss much. Let me rephrase, then. Think of the nastiest beast we've faced in our travels.

Chaos was several times worse. Some fool thought awakening it would be a brilliant idea.

Wait, so it was even stronger than the things we fought in Giruvegan and the Pharos? [NOT SURE IF WANT? Because exciting battles. But also potentially deadly battles.]

[And he thinks he knows precisely what's going through your head at this moment, Vaan. Always with the recklessness -- you know as well as he does that as much as Balthier may enjoy complaining about such things, there's a certain degree of excitement to be had here.

He smiles faintly, one side of his mouth hitching upwards into a knowing smirk.]

Not to worry, Vaan. There will be plenty more opportunities to throw yourself headfirst into danger, I'm sure.

[Vaan has never been very good at hiding what he's feeling, so of course Balthier would know exactly what was going through his head after hearing that.]

Well, I can't imagine a place full of dragons would be very boring.

Adventure around every corner, I assure you.

[He smirks; Vaan, how can you possibly resist adventure?]

Not to mention I could use an extra pair of hands on my crew.

The dragons are...aloof. They will not cause harm, but nor will they aid. However, some have drawn attention through destruction and selfishness. I cannot fault those whose opinions are colored by such actions, but know this; most are not so.

There are also lands which may be familiar to you; Bhujerba, Mt. Bur-Omisace...though Dalmsaca has not yet joined us.

[Well, it's sort of a relief to know they won't try to harm them. Sort of. Getting through a rough battle was always exhilarating, after all. He offers her a small smile in response to her next comment, though.]

But at least those places are here, right? Even if we can't really return to the places we're from, it's like there's still a little part of home to go to. In case one of us misses it.

[She nods, her expression caught between that eagerness to explore...and melancholy at what was left behind. Voluntarily so, but still.]

I admit, I have come to see Bhujerba as a home. Often do I visit. The people within are pleasant, and the view...it is wondrous. Perhaps we may cross paths within, when you are able?

Maybe. [He'd certainly like to, at any rate.] It's a really great city. [He prefers Rabanastre, but that doesn't change the fact that Bhujerba is still quite beautiful.]

I guess it'll depend on whenever I'm sent there.

Currently, I slumber encased in crystal. Yet I will awaken ere this month passes.

[Read: after the dragon egg plot is over.]

[Yeah, it's as weird as it sounds. Mjrn knows, given that look.]

Crystal stasis...it is a phenomenon which occurs infrequently, in the havens. Those afflicted turn to crystal, for an indeterminate amount of time. Some succumb to such sleep only briefly, while others remain so. Yet, when they awaken, they are unharmed.

So... sometimes people are kept asleep in crystal and sometimes they aren't?

Okay, I think I get it. [Not really.]

Vaan.....

[There may be some lip-gnawing.]

Do you remember me? It's okay if you don't, but....

[Just give him a moment to think.

... Nope. No recognition.]

Sorry, I... don't, really. [He feels bad about it, though.] Have we met before?

[She nods, though tries to focus on reassurance rather than any disappointment. It's not his fault her doesn't remember, she's sure.]

We have, but thanks to issues beyond my control, I don't remember it. I guess you don't, either. It's kind of a long story, but I'm told you saved me. I was hoping to thank you for that, one day.

[Vaan's still not completely sure he understands, but he'll go along with it.]

Maybe it's better this way. [He smiles.] We could make our own memories. That way we won't have to worry about any we don't really have.

[Doubtless the rest of Vaan's allies from the war would explain better than she could, anyway. That suggestion from him perks her up, though, and she smiles.]

I would like that, Vaan. Very much.

Oh--my name is Terra. It's only fair for you to know mine, when I already know yours.

Right. Nice to meet you, Terra. [He means it. Even if he doesn't know her, she certainly seems nice enough.]

They are not as the ones of Ivalice.

Yeah, they told me. [Sort of, anyway.]

So... how long have you all been there, anyway? [Because while this place may have certain parts of home, it still isn't Ivalice. Not really.]

Long enough for the novelty to wear off.

Sorry. But... at least there are other people we all know there, right? Better than being alone.

I mean, it'd be better if we were all where we belong, but if I'm going to be going to this place, I'm glad you guys will be there, too.

Yeah, well, it's always good to be on your guard. That way nothing can catch you by surprise. Not really, anyway.

Indeed... although surprises are bound to happen no matter how prepared we may be.
