No, I understand all too well! You liked the film well enough, so you decided to read the book again. You liked that well enough, too, and now the tour is in your city. And despite your so-called unending workload, you've still found the time to get me a new account and a new face.
None of this surprises me. We both know you've never had any sense of self-control. It is your dithering that I find exhausting. Make up your mind: either choose a damn game or don't. It makes no difference to me, so long as you stop going on about your many and varied [lip-curl] feels.

it's you.]
Perhaps, but the rolling about that usually accompanies the feels is growing tiresome.

...Why they rollin' around? This one ain't done that yet. [Looks to see if his will; like he expects her to perform on cue]

[He leans forward, scrutinizes the gamin with a raised eyebrow. It's been a few years and a few games: enough time for him to come to regard most of his castmates with varying levels of resigned tolerance.] I don't suppose you'd like to trade.

[An eyebrow rises] No fear.

[He's heard about there being other versions of himself here, but this is the first time he's actually met one. Have a moment of awkward silence while he stares intently at your face.]
What the devil have you done with your sideburnsIt would appear so.YO. Combo musical/book guy here. My canon knowledge is, alas, mired in the pages of Waterloo.
We. The Inspectors Javert. [Very dry. He finds his multiplicity as disturbing and absurd as he suspects this man does.] Date yourself, Inspector. My time, when I am not being burdened with limbo, is 1825. [He's learned this is an important detail to share, when talking with—yourself.]
aw yiss! I...actually enjoyed Waterloo, sob. Just wait until A Parenthesis. Or Argot.
Meeting his apparent doppelgänger is--jarring, but once the initial surprise has passed, he finds the other man's lack of a reaction far more interesting. Which means--]
You've met more of me. [Quickly:] Us. Good God, man, how many are there?
[Dating himself--well, that's familiar, at least. Temporal displacement is something he's grown used to.] The year was 1832, last I checked.
[He steps back, eyeing the other man intently and thoughtfully.] 1825. Where were you then? Just arrived in Paris, by my reckoning. Although-- [A pause, then he shakes his head once, abruptly. There's no guarantee this other Javert would have had the same experiences.]
I am actually enjoying it as well. But it is not helping my Javert out much!
Haha, this is true!
And done with Waterloo!
\o/ /high-fives
ALMOST TO THE PARIS CHASE. Can't come soon enough, not enough Javert in this book.
never enough Javert. 8|

Ace username and LOVE THE JAVIER. Also, I remember you, and welcome back. ;-)
I suffer a similar misfortune: Dragged from my peaceful retirement by a restless, blathering woman.
aaaa! ♥ finding photos of him with sideburns has been difficult but I WILL PREVAIL
[Difficult to tell if this particular Javert is being facetious with his remark about retirement, such as it is. Timelines are tricky things. He thrusts his chin out, calculating a moment. Then:]
I should have thought my resignation was unarguably final.
I applaud you. I considered the same, but I am wayyyy too lazy. Sticking with Perkins, it is!
[Hint caught and embraced. After his previous encounter with a Javert yielded no appreciation of his morbid, dark one-liners about drowned snuff... well, at least there are no explanations necessary this time. It elicits a pointed, knowing brow in his doppelganger's general direction. He raises his head--and his chin from his collar, subconsciously mirroring the motion--and regards him with an inscrutable, intent stare.
After a time, he frowns uncomfortably and folds his arms across his chest.]
I will tell you an idle eternity at rest is painfully dull. [In a mutter,] And maddening.
Perkins is a great choice! The closest any movie has ever gotten to my mental image of Javert, tbh.
I cannot say I was expecting anything at all, afterward. That, at least, would be preferable to idleness.
Hence why I use him. He works with my desc. Plenty of icons - a full set! - to cap whenever I choose

No worries! I've been a bit slow lately myself.

you were the Javert at Damned?
[His face is cool, composed, betraying nothing.]
yep, that was me!
[The word is as abrupt and violent as it is involuntary. Javert's ramrod posture becomes suddenly tenser, if such a thing is even possible. His hands curl reflexively into fists, his jaw tightening.
How the devil did the man manage to sneak up on him? And here, of all places, where there is no convenient corner to disappear around, no alley to step into and draw his collar up to hide his face.
It should strike him as grimly amusing that he is the one trying to do the avoiding now--and it would, perhaps, for any other man--but at the moment he finds he cannot see the humor in it. He can only stare at Valjean with a strange mix of fury and annoyance stamped on his features, frozen--for the moment--in place.]
omg, I read your app years ago while RPing him myself. from what I recall, it was fantastic
We must recall that the police precinct deemed Inspector Javert insane, and Valjean agreed with the assessment. He is unsure of what to expect.]
I.
[lol what is small talk]
aaa thank you! I had no idea there were other Javert players back then. where did you play him?
Impossible to categorize his thoughts at the moment. He should have expected it would happen at some point, especially in a place like this, but whenever the thought came up he avoided it as neatly as he wants to do now. And yet something--some tattered remnant of his pride, perhaps--prevents him from spinning on his heel and walking away, as much as he desperately wants to.
It's probably his mun.He stays frozen for a moment longer before he crosses his arms and thrusts his jaw forward almost belligerently.]
What do you want? [The words are almost growled, but behind the anger there's a bone-deep weariness. He's still using vous, and still totally unaware of the fact.]
I played him briefly at SkyTides. I was terrible at getting him CR though, so the muse died :(
respect! yeah, Javert is hard to get CR for, the unsociable bastard. :I
seriously. not that Valjean will be any better if I take him anywhere, lol
he can break into people's houses and leave them money
oh yes, he's a very dangerous serial philanthropist.
i hear it's the best way to make friends!
wait, what are friends?
they're...like those people your son-in-law hangs out with! except alive
