Now, Mundane, I know you had a rough day but you know mighty well that I'm a huntin' dog now, not one of them service ones. You have plenty of other little pups to help entertain you but you think I'm gonna go up to ya and give ya a big sloppy kiss. You know I wouldn't say no to that, but I don't think the master would like it much if he saw me all actin' like a big pup the night before the hunt.

I'll tell ya what, once we catch that fox then we can play all you like. In the meantime, it might be for the better that you let me catch some shut-eye before the big day and you get to playing with those other fellows of yours.

It's a lot of hard work! Lot of fun too, when the game's just right.

I think I most appreciate that it's a physical activity that requires your mind as much as your body. At it's core, it's outwitting your prey or being outwitted by them.

Mm, ol' Chief used to talk my ears about that. Only do I finally understand what he was getting at. Fightin' dirty's still fighting, and someone is going down tomorrow. It's not gonna be me.
