 Ah, very good mundane. I see you've decided to place your allegiances to the side more appreciative of your voice. It's an amusing devise that you've accomplished here, one I hope will shine light on the darker corners our dear Gotham is so intent on hiding.

Though I suspect...contrasting philosophies, it appears we have a similar grounds of understanding.

Truly? Well, an agent of Chaos can only be beneficial to the current situation. Balance does need one before the other, after all.

The world needs a bit of, ah, shaking up. Everyone is so worried about money and looks and other stupid, pointless shit, you know?

I look at society and I know that anyone with half a brain went crazy long ago. Honestly, anyone who isn't hopelessly corrupt should be with me. It's kinda sad how many good people keep trying to work within the system long after the system broke.

Power does so often become defined by the monetary. A pity, but a grave oversight by the citizens of Gotham that can easily be rectified by its removal.

Good, I find, is a matter that is subjective. As is innocence. And justice. So many abstractions to be found in a society that prefers the concrete. The irony almost supplies itself, don't you agree?

They've made money into a god. Everything they do, they do for it. Pathetic, really.

And they only pay lip-service to their goodness anyway. Drop a little gold in front of them and they'll kill each other.

Civilizations larger than two-hundred and thirty, at the very least. Which is why intervention is required to correct the monoliths.

Of course, the intervening people have the same problem. Plus, the only cure for corruption is to not want anything. And the enlightened people, the ones who really don't want anything? Don't want power, either.

No one who wants to rule should be trusted. Basic fact. And no one who can become a ruler should ever be allowed to do the job. *He sighs.* Now me, I can take or leave power. I just want people to think a little. I'm a philosopher. I want people to think about more than money and sports and fashion. I want to reopen Plato's Academy, I want sports talk to be replaced by Socratic dialogues--I want to give civilization a good, ah, good shaking and see what happens, that's all.

I'v always found Plato's writings to be a bit dry, myself. A man so situated on elitism can only establish similar teachings that corrode the value of the populace. And, as it goes, the illusion of power invites its overthrowing.

Nevertheless, it is an admirable pursuit. One quite wasted on Gotham, if I am correct in assuming you are a citizen of the city.

Aristotle was too focused on the mundane. Physical stuff isn't important once you know how to make it go boom.

Though focused on the realms of metaphysics as well. There is a sophistication in having one foot on either side of such arguments.

And, and that the more we try to tame and civilize it the worse it gets. Because civilized people are the worst kind of bastards!

But now I find myself wondering why Chaos requires an Agent.

It's not about some grand purpose, I'm no egomaniac. I just like to shake things up, try to get people to think. It's, ah, important, but it doesn't define me.

Shaking things up would qualify as a purpose, would it not? Surely there is a direction by which you would like the citizens of Gotham to contemplate.

A direction? That wouldn't be chaotic. Anywhere but where they are now is bound to be an improvement.
