Canon is Fable 2; wow there is an awesomely complete lack of resources for icon material
...I suppose you think you're clever.
If this is what you choose to do with your spare time, I hardly see a reason to stop you; it's a pointless but harmless path for you to follow. So be it. But any sort of long-term placement is a fool's errand. You have enough to do already, concerning these games you like to play; you know what happens when you stretch yourself too thin.
For the time being, however, I'll thank you for thinking of me, and tell you to keep your head up; even if I don't have much faith in you - and for now, I don't - we've only just met. If you don't justify that lack of faith, it will fade over time.
[...Yes, Garth, the mun will indeed try to check herself before she wrecks herself. Hello to you, too.]

Thinking they're clever is what they do best. Fascinating how wrong they usually are, but I hope yours is worthy of your faith.

Given her past choices, I find it doubtful that she will be. But for the time being I'm trying not to judge her; perhaps eventually she'll prove herself worthy of respect, if not faith - one can exist well without the other.

It seems to be an unwinnable situation, as far as you're concerned. The more you cooperate and go quietly, the more likely she will be to put you in a situation that isn't necessarily to your liking; the more you balk, the more amused she'll be at doing the same.
I don't know if it's that you can neither help nor harm your own position, so much as it is that no matter what you do, you're going to harm it.
[...today's daily dose of optimism, everyone.]

I wouldn't consider your situation hopeless. Just unpleasant. And unpleasant situations can be overcome with time.
[...his voice hasn't exactly softened very much, but at the very least it's far less pointed. That has to count for something.]

If only that were true.

[And for a good long moment (read: about two seconds) that's all that he says.]
Of all people, why would anyone choose to invite such an insufferable bore into their head?
[NOT THAT HE'S BUTTFURIOUS OR ANYTHING]

I would suggest that I'm here because some of them seem to have some sort of common sense; however, I fear the implications may end up going over your head.

[He couldn't be any more sarcastic if he tried. ...Which he's doing, but that's not the point.]
"Common sense" isn't what I'd use to describe one picking up you, my dear.
no subject
I won't fault you for that, if only because "common sense" seems to be something you're unfamiliar with. Though perhaps you'll surprise me one day.
At any rate, I'm not here for your entertainment in particular.
no subject
I'm well aware of that. Even Hammer is more amusing than you.
[So he just won't dignify that first part with a response!!!]
no subject
Still annoyed over what happened in Samarkand, I'm assuming.

[...listen, he wasn't the one who just kind of jumped on a table, pulled out a gun and yelled out a really posh version of "COME AT ME, BRO" for absolutely no reason that anyone in the immediate vicinity can figure out. Because unlike you, he actually believes in talking out his issues. When he's aware that there are issues to be talked out. We won't discuss the work done on the Spire here.]

[[well maybe if you weren't so angry all the time, it wouldn't be so damn funny]]
But such is life in these 'headspaces', I suppose. Things could be worse.

[That said, however, that was a bit of an interesting statement, regarding your mun.]
I take it that you've had a rough go of it, regarding your placement.
no subject
[[Can you sense that she's unimpressed? Because god, is she unimpressed.]]
Apparently she finds it 'interesting' to try and make us get along. If it wasn't obvious, I feel differently.

It's more the fact that...I don't want to allow myself to get along with them, or see them in a positive light, because if we all return back to Albion I have a duty to ensure I put a stop to their actions, preferably permanently.
[[A sigh.]]
If you see your enemies as people rather than...beings composed of qualities and actions that you despise, it becomes harder to pull the trigger. I..can't let that happen to me. Not when they're involved.
...sorry. I didn't mean to unload on you like that, when I haven't even bothered to introduce myself. I'm Page.
no subject
[In no uncertain terms.]
I'm no stranger to ensuring that the actions of another are stopped in dire situations; at the same time, I would be more concerned for what it would say about myself if pulling that metaphorical trigger were to ever become truly easy. Are they really so far beyond saving?
no subject
[...]
If you want an answer, however, I...don't really know. In all honesty, I don't know either of them very well, on a personal level, but I know far more about them than I did when I was introduced to that place. Certainly more than I did back home, anyway.
I've already had a moment there where I couldn't bring myself to fire on one of them, even though he probably would have shot me first, because that wasn't the reason I couldn't do it. Not the main one, anyway.
I can't risk letting down those who follow me back home by letting the uncertainty over the whole situation grow.
