I don't know why it took you so long to bring me here. You brought everyone else over about a year ago. If I didn't like you so much I'd be annoyed with you right now but hey, it's better late than never, right?

[Not the reaction this mun had been expecting...]

But now that I am here you better find something for me to do. Though don't take me anywhere...dangerous like you have some of the other people in your head. I don't think it's really my thing. You get that, right? Right?

[A pause and no answer from the mun]

At least don't send me anywhere without my family. You've gotta give me that at least.

[Look how her face automatically lights up in the brightest smile when she sees you, Jake. She is definitely relieved to see that you're here too.]

I hope so too. But she hasn't exactly had the best track record for listening in the past.

[They grow up so fast... He can't help smiling his crooked smile, idly wondering if his halfhearted attempt to assert his authority will be severely undermineded by the fact that he looks to be about the same age as her.]

Nowhere dangerous. I forbid it. [Hey, a father has to try, even if he knows full well that he has no real say in the matter.]

[Especially your daughter, Edward who grew up a lot faster than others. When she hears your voice though she'll spin around and grin brightly. She loves her father more than anything and knowing that he's here too definitely comforts her.]

Your're not my mun's father. I don't think that's going to work on her, dad. [But she does appreciate the fact that you're trying!]

[As if he could forget that part... His gaze is knowing, adoring, taking in the sight of her, his one and only daughter, his little miracle. How could he not be here for her?]

Can't hurt to try. [Sigh, still smiling though.] You look beautiful. Just like your mother.

[Dare he ask how old she is now...]

[She wouldn't have it any other way. She loves her family, all of them and hey, it's not exactly the most traditional or 'normal' family in the world but then again she's not exactly the most normal of teenage girls either.]

Well, thank you for trying. I hope it works. [She smiles even wider at his comment] You have to say that, you're my dad...where is mom anyway?

[And she's eighteen Edward...yes, good luck with that.]

[Neither would he. Everything had worked out in the end. They had an incredible family.]

I only wish I could do more. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. [Nothing worse than feeling powerless, especially when it comes to protecting your loved ones... Smile turns reassuring, however.] That doesn't make it any less true.

She's around. [Vague much? Mmmhmm.] I'm sure she'll make an appearance in due time.

[She looks eighteen, but looks can be deceiving. He would know, being living proof and all. Well, here goes nothing.] Forgive me for having to ask, but how old are you now?

Thanks, dad. You know...I'm pretty sure she'd do anything you suggest to her. She seems to be just as fond of you as I am.

[Maybe in a different way but still fond of him. At his next comment though she'll make her way over to him and give him a kiss on the cheek before settling beside him. They really do look the same age. You'd think she would feel strange about having a father who looks 17 forever but no, not in the slightest.]

I hope so, I miss her. I haven't seen her in a long time now. I hadn't seen anyone in a long time.

I'm eighteen now. All grown up. [She nudges his arm playfully with her own]
