Willas Tyrell, a background character I hope gets more attention in the show than the books.
I'm not going to lie, mundane. I'm not overly thrilled about my house's recent alliance. King Joffrey worries me deeply. He is cruel, vicious, rash, ... stupid. No good can come of his rule, for the people, nor the realm.
I suppose although I am heir, my father has the final say in what we do.
[Taps his walking stick on the ground in annoyance, and the gold inlaid ebony makes a resounding crack.]
It doesn't mean I have to like it though. You know, now that I think of it, people are making a lot of decisions for me that I'd rather they wouldn't. Grandmother seems set to marry me off. I believe her latest attempt at a match is Sansa Stark.
["Oh Really?"]
Stop looking at me like that. I'm sure she's a lovely girl, but I've never even met her. Beyond that, it has never felt right to me that people are commanded in to marriages, men or women. Yes, it sometimes works out, and it can be a valuable political tool, if you have no scruples ... But it seems a cruel and unusual punishment to be married to someone you don't know, much less love, doesn't it?

I'm surprised you believe it to be so.
[Loras holds know illusions. He's seen their sister bartered off too many times.]

[He had long accepted that he would never gain the same situation their brother had. It was sealed now, with the death of Renly, and his place in the Guard.]
in the books, it was hinted that the family knew, or at least had an idea
Yeah, Loras is just a bitter kitten.
[For Renly is dead and buried, and nothing would bring him back.]
Margaery will marry Jeoffrey, and I will protect her.
You could do worse than Sansa.
Yeah, well, he's got a right to be.
I wouldn't know. I've yet to meet the girl.

[Meaning that if Jeoffrey puts a hand on his sister, he's a dead man, oath or not.]
She's beautiful, and seems intelligent enough.
[Loras has hardly paid more attention than that, though. But what else could Willas want? Though, in truth be told, he has not spent much time in his brother's company, for many years. As a squire to Renly, then as a knight, there was precious little time spent at Highgarden.]

Well, I'd still like to meet the girl if I'm to marry her.

You do not have the ability to take oaths like I do.

i hope he does too!
I would not have minded, my lord. I daresay I would be much better suited to Highgarden than to King's Landing and a Lannister.
[Realizing what she said, she quickly tries to save herself.]
Not to say I do not love my husband, of course. [Sansa hears the words come from her mouth and even she believes it for a moment.] Just that I hear Highgarden is beautiful with all sorts of things to keep one entertained.
I know! He's the only "pretty cool guy" in Westeros
[Loras did not lie, she is beautiful. But there's a downtrodden sadness written all over. He can't help but feel for everything she's been through, more so now that he's seen her.]
It has it's charm. Perhaps we can arrange a visit some time.
pretty much! i'd love it if he pops up in season 3. he can come for the wedding or something.
It is not so bad here. [LIES LIES LIES.] There is always some excitement to be seen.
I would very much enjoy to visit, though I doubt my lord husband would allow it, considering.
That'd be brilliant. And hopefully they use Henry Cavill, so my PB can be justified xP
I'm sure he'd be willing. He's never struck me as the jealous type, and I'm sure he'd trust you.
[Besides, Willas here is the family nerd.]
that would be awesome, i love cavill. he's probably too busy being superman though lol
Well they finished filming it a while ago, he'd probably be able to make a cameo
[Say what you will about the Lannisters, but they're not exactly fools.]
They'll still have you under lock and key, stopping Robb from getting you back, and keeping their most important bargaining chip. And if say, you had been married to me, that'd give the King in the North an opening to court our favor, and put the Highgarden's armies at his beck and call.
i meant like the press he'll have to do and such. and a justice league movie if that happens.
[The words hurt. She should be worth more being his sister. But Robb isn't stupid enough to bargain for her.]
True, true.
You're too hard on yourself, my lady.
[He offers a small but warm smile.]

I only speak the truth, my lord. It is no burden, I understand his reasoning. [She understands, but that doesn't make it any less better.]
I fear I have completely changed course. [She forces herself to change the subject.] I'm wondering how it is you shall convince the Lannisters to let me visit? I was thinking perhaps you could suggest it to Margaery. As our soon to be Queen, I doubt they would deny her any requests.

[He swaps topics as well, seeing she needs to be away from there.]
Or perhaps we shall invite your lord husband? I'm sure he'd enjoy a trip to the Highgarden.
no subject
Yes, that would probably work. He might even be glad of a trip away from the castle. Between me and you, I do not think he likes being Hand much at all.
