Voice Test!
Though I find your interest in me flattering, I have other matters to attend to: mainly exacting revenge for my death. I'm certain Holmes will see that measures are taken against Moriarty. However, where is the fun in sitting on the sidelines?
Such inaction has never suited me.

But he's not on drugs right now! He's just going to lick your feet, because he's a dog and they do that.]

Irene grins and pets over his head.)
I'm happy to see you're still alive.
no subject
(And sometimes they cuddle.)
Gladstone is also happy to see he's still alive. Every time he wakes up, he's happy he's alive. He's also happy to be petted (one might say he's glad, even), and that snort is nothing but pleased. Just because it sounds like a grumpy old man doesn't make it so, he can't help how his voice box works!
And yes, if he can, he is going to lick that hand, because hands are better than feet any day.]
no subject
Have you been left under the care of that animal abuser? (She might have rescued him if: 1.) he hadn't already belonged to Watson and 2.) she wasn't constantly on the move and/or allying herself with men who would gladly poison her dog.)
no subject
He's obviously pleased to see her, that stumpy little tail wagging excitedly. So excitedly that were he to try and walk, he'd end up going around in circles. To answer her question, he tilts his head back so she can see the name and address on his collar. Still 221b Baker Street, and there's only one occupant in that particular place at the moment.
Animal abuser? At times, yes. But, sometimes, he plays sweet music on that violin and Gladstone forgives him. He's not so bad, is he?]

You're such a good boy. Any other dog would have probably run away by now. (And, perhaps, been worse off for it.) Maybe you see the same thing in him that I do.
(i.e. that he isn't such a bad person. In fact, he could be quite noble when he wanted to be.
When he wanted to be.)
no subject
Gladstone run away? Never! That's almost blasphemous. Where would he run to when Mrs. Watson wouldn't want him in the house? Nowhere good, and the pound isn't a place Gladstone wants to frequent. Who knows what kind of person would try to take him home if he didn't get told he was die before?
The praise is definitely the ticket to Gladstone's furry little heart, and he leans back on his haunches and waggles his forelegs between them, snorting a pleased little bark in the hopes that she'll pick him up and he can lick her face.]

There's nothing stopping us from enjoying ourselves, hm? (She strokes over his ears and his back.) I doubt we'll have a break from that man for long.
(Because Sherlock has always tracked them down before. Even in this strange new world, Irene doesn't doubt that he will do so again.)

Need I go into specifics, Mr. Moran?

[It's not a question.]

And then there's the fact that I said so. C'mon, Irene, let's have a chat.
no subject
I'd rather not.

It didn't escape my notice, in fact. Still stands that disappearing off the face of the Earth for a spell gets rid of your other plans.
Shame, that.
