thoughts after a rewatch of the lord of the rings

They were gallant knights. Men of honour, always fighting against evil and doing good. They were very brave indeed.

But those were only stories. You can't believe what they say.

[ there is no honour left in westeros. sansa's father had possessed it, and he had been killed for it. gallant knights and chivalry are the domain of stories and songs alone. ]

At times, it felt as if we were all part of one. All the bad parts of the story, the parts where you'd say, 'Close the book Dad, we don't want to read anymore.'

But as one who was part of it..they were quite real.
