Mundane,
While it may be amusing to you that articles relating to the original ACD stories occasionally crop up over the course of your academic research, they will serve neither your portrayal of me, nor your studies. Don't you have better things to do with your time than read irrelevant articles (which are more than likely full of errors anyway)? I happen to know for a fact that you do.
Do at least try to not be an idiot.

I should imagine it's very obvious and involves the words "protagonist", "BBC", and "enormous amounts of revenue".
Although obviously I'm sure my natural brilliance also contributes.
And perhaps you, as well.
no subject
That would do it. [He shakes his head.]
What, you think I'm stopping people from choking the life out of you? I've tried to do it myself, you might remember.

Just because a person does something doesn't mean they'll let someone else do it.

John cracks a bit of a grin at that.]
Well, maybe you're right, and maybe you aren't.

He has worked five years with you, I'll give him that.

He needs me, and he knows it. But moreover, it's not his... approach to things.

[Molly, Mrs Hudson... Mycroft...]

Okay, okay, Sherlock. Everyone adores you, and I'm not going to let someone choke you. Satisfied?

Fine, then. What would you like to talk about? Seeing as the topics I pick end up raising my blood pressure.

I don't excel at idle chit-chat unless there's a persona involved.
[Read: he is utterly terrible at it, and is admitting to being less than perfect. Are you happy now? He doesn't want to make you actively unwell.]

All right... Well, have you seen any of the other here, yet? I'm sure they'd be chuffed to see you.
no subject
Lestrade is here, and I've seen Molly once, briefly. Other versions of myself. Other versions of you.
...Moriarty.
[Not pointing out how wrong he is to assume any of those would be chuffed, except maybe the other Watsons. He's also not mentioning Irene, for reasons which are probably best left to himself.]

Moriarty. [He repeats it, as if bracing himself.] That's, ah. Well.
[No further comment needed. So, he changes the subject.]
It's interesting to have a conversation with other versions of yourself, isn't it? Bizarre, unnatural... but interesting.

...I didn't care for the experience. But then, I'm not as personable as you.
