Mundane,
We simply must talk. I have serious concerns about the fact that you seem to have completely gone 'round the bend. The mere thought of you attempting to "play" me in one of your games is so absurd it would make me laugh if I weren't so concerned for your mental well being. There is clearly something very wrong with your brain if you think that you had either the time or the mental capacity to come anywhere near presenting even a close facsimile to my person.
In any event it's simply out of the question. I have far too much work to do to go gallivanting about on the whim of a woman. If I wanted that I could have simply resigned myself to the miserably dim so-called institution of marriage.
We will speak no more of this matter. I consider it closed never to be reopened by you or any other person.
Definitively,
Sherlock Holmes

Truly? I've certainly heard that there may be others of myself around here. I must admit I am curious. What an experience it must be, meeting ones self.
[He shoots her a tight lipped smile, looking her up and down] And that would make you...? [He lets his voice trail off, already certain of the answer but not wanting to admit it just yet. It hasn't been long since his own Irene... well... got in over her head.]
no subject
[And she tsks at the question.] I know your counterparts well enough to know you must have a guess. Or a deduction, if you preferred to play that game.
no subject
Oh I have more than a guess. Or a deduction. It doesn't take an incredible genius to know who you are, Irene. [His voice softens as he says her name, eyes flitting everywhere except at the woman in front of him as he lights his pipe.]

many many hearts indeed
the watsons should always commiserate
they should. though I'd hate to see how the gambling would turn out
poker games with all four would be fantastic
and by fantastic you mean a trainwreck, which is also fantastic
yes :)

I'm curious, by "work", do you mean something to do with how Gladstone came to be in the bathtub this morning?
no subject
[pause]
He doesn't mind.

Dogs don't even swim underwater!
no subject
Must I explain my process each and every time? I wasn't expecting him to swim I was merely testing the contraption to ensure it would work with no leaks for the eventuality that I test the practical uses of it.
[he pauses, fixing Watson with one of his "Watson, are you really that dim?" looks] Besides, it's not as if there is any room to swim in a bathtub for canine or otherwise.

[He's used to the multiples by now, but...hm.]
...Er... Forgive me if I stare. My version of you is always quite clean-shaven. [In fact, he's never seen Sherlock with stubble at all. This is. Strange.]

[he puffs thoughtfully on his pipe, looking the other man up and down, eyes flitting over every minute detail of his person]
I dare say I'd known I would be seeing other versions of myself but I hadn't taken into account the other versions of Dr. Watson there may be.
no subject
Mm. I've even met a few. It is the strangest thing, to have a conversation with yourself... [Especially when that self is a woman, or a cyborg, or a mouse, or whatever other bizarre variation of Watson there can be.]
