I'm not doubting you ma'am. It's just you don't have the best record for these sorts of things. The last time you managed to keep someone around was, well, never. I don't see why I'd be any different.

Steve... There's no need to apologize. [Despite the hint of sorrow in her voice, it's obvious that she's speaking the truth.] You did what was necessary. I never blamed you for what happened.

[Taking a steadying breath, Peggy gives him a small smile.] Though, if you do think an apology is necessary, that dancing lesson would be a good place to start.

I know. [He'd do it again in a heartbeat if he had to and they both know it, but he still never wanted to hurt her.]

[She gently rests her hand on his arm, looking up at him, wishing that they could truly have another chance.] You'd better know that or I may use you for target practice again.

[She wouldn't... not for that at least though if a certain, forward blonde shows up, he'd better have his shield ready.]

It's gonna take a bit to learn now to step on your feet. I don't think I've got that much time right now. My mundane seems to think I'll be around awhile though. Hoping she's right.
