You bring me away from my coding for this? Did you really have to bring me over, I was fine just sitting in your head for a while.

Man, you get cranky when you don't sleep.

Because all the time you sleep, I'm learning. So I'm getting twice as much information as a regular person. Therefore, I'm twice as old.

Nope. I haven't slept since I was born. I don't get tired either. Unless I do a hell of a lot of running!

I don't think that would add to your age. It would help you become the youngest scientist or computer programmer, just about anything, though.

That's a bit strange, even to me, but I don't think that makes you a freak.

[Shrugs] Just what my brother calls me all the time. He's normal.

That's a good way to reason it. So that means you'll live twice as long as other humans.

I don't think you're a freak. Everybody is different. It's entirely possible that you're another step forward in human evolution.

I would hope I do, I'm a scientist. I work with the Air Force.

Cool! Sounds like a lot of fun. Do you get to fly too?

Yeah, I do. I was a pilot during the Gulf War. Most of my work now is scientific in nature, though.

But that was...You're American, aren't you?

I am, yes. Why do you ask?

Oh. The Gulf War was an American operation. British weren't involved. When you said the Air Force, I immediately thought of the RAF.

Ah, I see. My mistake. Yeah, I with the US Air Force.

That's still pretty cool. RAF is cooler though.

[Sam laughs softly.]

Well yeah. It's Royal! And British. That makes everything cooler.

[Totally not gonna argue with him. Everybody has opinions.]

Well, it's nice to meet you, Thomas. My name is Samantha, everyone calls me Sam though. Much less of a mouthful.
