[But there were still pieces missing. Namely: one flower girl and one best friend. He did a pretty good job at staying focused on what he had and not what he didn't now, but there was no denying the quiet absence their friends had left behind.

He's a little embarrassed though, pleased by Zack's approval. Old habits died hard.]

There's a little obligatory struggle there (along with a huff, because he couldn't just let Zack win and get his bromance on without a fight) but it doesn't last long and is half-hearted at best.
