It's truly a sad state of affairs, when even one's steed values their education more than they do themselves. Perhaps your Mundane needs to take some time to reflect on their capability to handle the rigors of academia?

An education is a privilege, after all, not a right. A weak-willed and undisciplined student makes for a poor scholar; no doubt there are other, far more dedicated prospective students who would leap at the chance to better themselves.

[What do you mean, "friendship isn't nagging and insulting people for their own good"? How else do you expect to keep those insufferable pests in line and doing quality work?]

Is that so? I'm afraid where I'm from, it's a more equal opportunity job; mares are just as likely as stallions to fill the role.

I suppose you could consider me a teacher, if you'd like--it's been some time, though. I'm currently a researcher proper, instead. If your Mundane is capable of performing so well in her studies, then, it seems you may have a discipline problem to deal with. Perhaps leisure time with her friends needs to be made use of as a reward system?
