I should certainly hope you're not planning on doing anything with me! I've far too much to do at home for any sort of adventures beyond what Gandalf might suppose. I've no time to run off to space or ships or sail or do anything of that sort.

[Businesslike] I mean I don't suppose I'd be opposed to those things. Eventually. [Frown frown frown] In the long run. If you have the time and you're quite busy anyway and so.

[He claps his hands together] As it is I think I've quite a lot to do with your head anyway! You certainly have some...fascinating characters who've made your acquaintance! I shall be far too busy making myself known to them to have any particularly dangerous adventures.

If you're worried about my presence, you have only your family to blame and should anyone feel the need to complain do as I do. Remember that it is the duty of those who are less then you to speak ill of their betters.

[Look at the sackville-bagginses mun. Seriously.] So anyone who should say something is clearly less then you.

Right? Right. Now. Tea?

[ A humored chuckle could be heard from one very important dwarf. ] No time for adventures of any kind? For shame, Bilbo Baggins!

I had hoped you would be an adventurous type, the kind of fellow who would be more eager for treasure than tea. Alas, it would seem I've been fooled in believing that our "burglar" possessed such a heroic trait.

[theringfinder]

I specifically stated her adventures. I've no wish to go back on any bargain I've made with another. We hobbits are creatures of our word.

But when, an upstart decides to ruffle feathers with such creatures in her head well...I do need a moment. Wouldn't you?

[She talked about space Thorin. Space. Who goes to space. Not even Dwarves. D:]

[oakenshield]

[ Alas, space is the final frontier, my friend. Hobbits should go where no man has gone before! ]

Admittedly, I most certainly would need a moment or two. Although, I'm quite curious as of what may exist within the great beyond.

[ If there's some sort of treasure to be found somewhere out there; then he's going. ]

Yet, I do believe I should focus my efforts on our current journey first.

[theringfinder]

She mostly says it's for her family, that our story holds a special place in her heart and in her home. [He is pretty proud of that] surprises and the great beyond are one thing, but to make such an impression on someone...I do believe I'd enjoy that.

[oakenshield]

[ He couldn't help but smile a tad proudly now. ] Aye, I do believe you're quite right. I'm rather overjoyed to hear she finds tales of our exploits to be that entertaining.

[theringfinder]

I'm not sure what an animation is, but it must be exciting to have riveted her that much.

And so. where is the rest of the party?

[elvenking]

Your wisdom leaves me to wonder how well you fare in your own land, where it is one's duty to speak ill of one's betters.

[The tone is light and, what do you know, quite warm, as it is wont to be around Bilbo.]

[theringfinder]

[Bilbo's expression sets into something like annoyance - for a moment. Then it vanishes. He speaks facts. facts.] It's the duty of every hobbit to keep their head down and their nose in their own business.

[pause]

But, we hardly make as much of a practice of it as - well, the big people and I tend...well we bagginses have always been a bit odd so participating in such sports [And they are sports in Hobbiton and the surrounding provinces]

A-hem.

[wheeloffire]

Oh, but why not start a new adventure? Good things always come in twos!

You will be fine, as long as you keep your feet.

[theringfinder]

[Well. Hm.] Yes, but in a road like this there's no telling where I might be carried off to!

attack of the nephews? all according to plan...

[wheeloffire]

[ Touché. ] But that is the exciting part! Think of all the things you could see!

The world could be waiting for you right outside of your door!

[ringbearer]

[ at this point frodo knows by the sound of his voice that this is the sort of bilbo that he heard in the beginnings of this tale, over and over again. it's the sort of place this is.

he chuckles ]

Who knows, Uncle? Perhaps there's an adventurer in you, yet.

WPHGWH. so many wonderful hobbitses.

[theringfinder]

[Bilbo - after a moment of collection and listening shrugs his shoulders] You know, the thought crosses my mind when I see the company that I keep but really...what can one hobbit do to change the course of history?

[ringbearer]

[ there's a ghost of a smile on frodo's lips, that turns real by the time he's finished speaking. ]

You'll never know if you don't set right out that door. Besides I think I should like to hear some of your stories when you come back.

FRODO. nephew. c'mere. D:

[theringfinder]

[Bilbo raises an eyebrow] ...Nonsense...I'm sure you have...better things to do more...productive then listening to me.

[What is it with everyone thinking he's neat. First his mun, now this kid. D:]

[ringbearer]

[ frodo in that moment wishes he could say all sorts of things to bilbo. like how he would have the sort of adventure frodo dreamed of having, but didn't, how there were few things in the world he loved more than just listening to his uncle tell any sort of story.

i would rather see my uncle than all the palaces in the world,. ]

Don't say such things, Uncle! I'm always of a mind to listen..
[ a pause, then a wry smile ]
Unless of course you've had a bit too much brew, and there's not so much listening as there is trying to understand a word you're saying!

[theringfinder]

[Bilbo laughs at that] You're telling me you don't enjoy my stories at the Dragon? Frodo.

[He's kidding kid.] It might take a bit, but I'll see if I can get used to all these big people. Be easier if there were a few dwarves.

[ringbearer]

Now I hardly said that!
[ he knows how this story will go, and it's all he can do not to laugh. ]
Thirteen of them, even.

[theringfinder]

I never thought I would say that they're better company then my current companions but...they are better company then my current companions lad.

[His new headspace is weird Frodo. D:]

[ringbearer]

I think any such persons should be glad to have you on a journey with them, Uncle Bilbo.

[ and frodo means it. he would have. ]
At least, I know one nephew who would.

[theringfinder]

...Are you offering? [He's touched by this. Genuinely touched.]

I suppose...if you could think of a..quest of sorts...

[ringbearer]

I think that is as good an offer as any. If you would have me. You never know how famous you might become after undergoing such a journey, Uncle.

[ oh, bilbo. frodo smiles faintly. ]
How about wherever your feet lead us?

[theringfinder]

I suppose I could, I do suppose that. Frodo my lad. I... [Ponder] I understand YOU have had a few adventures yourself.
