Awful inconvenient, isn't it? Learning about me just a little bit at a time. Always doubting your take on me, not knowing if I've got magic or if I'm just particularly good at pirating. Aurora's not the first girl whose heart I've stolen, but it might not be so literal with the others.

And you can't count on your little theory being anything resembling reality. What part of this story has ever been predictable?

Y'know, I don't think I'll ever understand some womens' fascination with pirates.

And I'll never understand some men's fascination with mermaids. They're a beastly bunch.

They're good at hiding it. Doesn't make them good.

Forgive me if I don't take your advice as to what's good or not, captain.

And you just proved me right to cut you loose before you could turn on us. You don't honestly believe Cora's going to take you through with her. She just needs you to get her there. I'm willing to bet, when push comes to shove, the only part of you that'll make it through with her is your heart.

What did you expect would happen? I'd follow after you, begging to be tied up again? That you'd never see me again? I don't take betrayal lightly. [Even if he goes around betraying people at every turn.]

I don't trust Cora, but that doesn't mean we can't use each other.

That's not the way it works, Hook. There's nothing mutual about it - someone uses, and the other gets used. You were better off taking your chances with the giant.

In some cases. But it's a crapshot as to who gets the pages filled in, and how far, and in what order.

Your story could drag on for another year, easy. In the meanwhile whatever they come up with is what you get to play by.

Besides, the only detail of my story anyone seems to care about anymore is Grace's mother. I don't have to guess why.
