Spoilers possible in the comments
ooc: Putting the post under a cut again just to be safe when it comes to spoilers.
Still not entirely happy about this whole thing, but you know what? All things considered I think we might be able to get along you and me.
[ It helped a lot that Katie showed up. And that he's been getting to have a lot of fun in general. ]
Might even be all right to try one of those games out, as was pointed out to me it would only be temporary anyway.
[ He could bear to be parted from his mate for a while in the name of discovery. It wouldn't be easy, but neither is giving up the drinking of human blood. He likes a challenge. ]

What about yourself?

Besides, not all djinn have fire for their main element, but that is an entirely different matter.
no subject
So what are you, really?
no subject
[ Better sit down, you enabled Verserak's nerd mode. ]
Every djinn has a 'main' element - either fire, air, earth, or water. This determines their primary strengths, some magical abilities, though that is a question of practice, and certain 'comfort zones' as well as weaknesses.
Since that would be too easy and not enough variety for the magicians of old, each djinn also has a 'secondary' element. That one may not contradict with the main element and has a lesser effect on powers and so on than the main one.
Say you have a djinn whose main element is water. Their secondary element would subsequently be either earth or air, their main weakness fire.
It's quite simple, actually.
The best combination is, of course, air and fire, as you can see right in front of you.
[ Actually, they are all mostly equal and it depends on where one orders them to go and for what purpose, but allow him the arrogance. ]

So what's your main weakness?

[Besides, Kiara's content with what she has, anyway. Normal life for the first time in a hundred and eleven years? Best thing ever.]
Getting out to talk to others here is enough for me.

[Which she can do without, thank you very much.]
I'm Kiara.

I'm Garrett, nice to meet you.
no subject
[Which sounds pretty weird coming from a girl who only looks fifteen or so.]
Likewise. So what were things like for you before you ended up here?
no subject
Thought most people started later these days.
And that's an awfully big question there. Mind cutting it down to size a little?
no subject
Well, I had a son when I was still human, right before I was turned. But I've got two adopted children now, a boy and a girl. And then there's Ginia.
[She looks a little sad, just for a second, but then it's gone.]
But she lives with her father, and I don't see her much. [Sadly. She'd like to, but she's also hesitant about the strain it might cause. Not so much for her daughter as for her father.]
Hm, okay. What've you spent the last couple decades doing?
[Because that's cutting it down, right?]
no subject
[ Because you sure don't look like a vampire to him. No sparkling! ]
I'm sorry to hear about your daughter.
As for what I've been up to, I have roamed far and wide in search of mysteries to solve and adventures to have.
no subject
[She's kind of glad that she doesn't sparkle. It would've made it so much harder to hide when she was on the run.]
Thanks. I still keep in touch, just not so much face to face. Hopefully someday, though.
[Well, they have roaming far and wide in common! Mysteries on her part? Not so much.]
I'm sure you found a lot, then.
no subject
[ Shouldn't mention things like that to the ever inquisitive Garrett if you aren't up for explaining. ]
And I found my fair share. Won't be going much of anywhere for a while now though, I don't think.

[Poorly. But there was coping and that's what matters.]
no subject
[ He totally thinks he is, but being a cocky bugger is part of the stunning package deal that is Garrett. ]
What did you do to cope?
no subject
It's hard, but finding things to get your mind off it helps a lot.
[Especially when those things are unintentionally self destructive behaviors.]
no subject
I imagine that's the only way, really. Good thing I'm a man of many interests.
