[Sherlock brings Molly a mug of coffee, fixed to her specifications even though he's never asked her how she takes it and most people would think he doesn't care, and sets it down in front of her.]

[Molly blinks at the cup of coffee, lifting her head to look up at the surprisingly thoughtful courier. Her eyebrows raise the slightest bit (indiscernable for someone who doesn't have Sherlock's abilities) and she stammers out a reply] Sh-Sherlock! I.. didn't see you there.

[She pauses, glancing back to the coffee.] I mean, um...thank you... [It is for her, right? She's not used to such a thing, Sherlock bringing her coffee rather than the other way 'round. She curls her hand around the handle of the mug, hoping she's not being presumptuous.]

[He smiles and takes a seat across the lab bench from her.] You are far more important than I ever give you credit for being. That having been said, I need your help and it may result in a total forfeiture of your medical license.

[And because Sherlock has the most brilliant sense of timing, that sentence comes out just as she's taking a sip of her fresh coffee - so she coughs and sputters for a moment, utterly distracted from the acknowledgment that it was prepared perfectly for her taste.] Ah-! I-I'm sorry, what?

I need you to knowingly and willfully falsify the documentation associated with an investigation into the death of a young child -- autopsy report, certificate of death, the whole lot. It's important. [He's deadly serious and from the look on his face, it's something he's rather worried about.]

Y...You must be mad or something... [Is the shocked tone of her voice evident enough? She gently puts down her coffee, with a light clink on the hard surface taking the space of the silence between them as she stares at him. She can see the severity of the situation reflected in his face, but that doesn't make her any less conflicted.]

Sherlock, what is this about?

[He takes a deep breath and prepares to make his case, knowing very well that it's a big thing to ask, even for Molly who is relatively easy to persuade.] It's about saving someone's life. He needs to disappear and this is the best way to do it. Nobody looks to kill someone who's already dead. His parents are the sort of people who make enemies because of their jobs. He's already got somewhere safe to go to. He just needs the paperwork for a smoke-screen. [He pauses here, then presses his lips together and looks at her seriously.] Please, Molly.

[She presses her lips together in thought, glancing between his pleading eyes and her coffee cup. What he's asking...it's incredibly risky. It's her license on the line, her livelihood. But at the same time, Sherlock wouldn't invoke 'please' if he didn't mean it, if it wasn't of the utmost importance.

Her hands rest on the table surface, fingers lightly curled. She looks around them briefly, as if she's suddenly worried about being overheard. Her voice drops to a lower tone, perhaps out of paranoia, or simply seeing too many films.] It'll..it'll be protecting him, yeah? Saving his life?

..W-What about the parents? I mean, will they- Er, would they know?

His father will know. [He presses his lips together, considering how much he should tell her and deciding that in this case she will function better with all the facts.] Considering that I'm the guilty party in that respect. But his mother's already dead.

[Molly bites her lip gently in thought. The risks, the risks were so great - a little boy's life versus her job....But it was her livelihood! ..But he's lost his mum, his dad's all he's got left...

She took a deep and slowly exhaled.] And is this just between you and me? I mean...it doesn't sound like this is sanctioned by the Yard...

[He nods. This is one request that, while logical, is among the most difficult he's ever had to make.
