In regards to some pretty bleak plotting.

I don't believe facing fears makes a brave man out of anyone.  It only makes us afraid.  No matter, your cause was lost for you long ago.

...Please, do not do this.  Do not ask me to do this.

[Bush is as stoic as ever, but he has sympathy for Archie; he always was tender, for an experienced officer.]

They may not make a man brave, but we face them as we must, or else we'd have all been rotting on the seabed years ago. You'll face up.

oh god it's been forever since i've played bush *gropes for his voice*

[Yes, well, Bush isn't necessarily the best guy to go to when it comes to existential angst about one's own bravery. He's not natively imaginative enough to spend much time pondering such things; he concerns himself with the practical, and then bulls ahead. But his friends seem to tend to be both more intellectual and more sensitive than he.]

[That morbidity will get an eyebrow, Lt. Kennedy.]

And useful you'd be there, too. I never took you for a man with ambitions of being fish-food.

Not permanent.

[He has little experience with the multiverse, and that which he has inclines him to be generally dubious and suspicious. Most of it he neither understands nor approves of. He's not going to outright ask Kennedy for an explanation, but if he could provide one, Bush would be obliged.]
