On Mun's Slightly Unhealthy Obsession with Crossovers.

As interesting as your ideas sound, I'm not sure all of them are a good idea. Meeting new ponies is nice and all, but I have to think about the bigger picture. Introducing the protagonists of one world could carry the risk of introducing their antagonists, as well, and I have to keep watch for that.

[...]

It could be 'fun'? I'm not sure I would call warding off various evil forces 'fun', even if I had help. What other worlds would you even want to introduce?

[...]

[...There's a small eye-roll.]

Rant about it all you want. Equestria is just fine without things like "Social Links" or "Shadows" or whatever you're talking about. And what is a "Gensokyo", anyway?

Just go to bed already. I have a patrol to get back to and you have classes to worry about. You stay up any longer and I'm going to get my sister to talk sense into you about student discipline.

[Using your little sister as a threat. Classy, Shining. Classy.]

...

The Great and Powerful Trixie has just been informed by her mundane that he shows interest in such a crossover, though she is confounded as to what such a crossover would entail.

Does this mean your mun needs a lecture, Shining? I'll be more than happy to put one together.

But don't fret too much about your mun's crossover ideas. I promise you, they can't beat the ones mine has come up with for sheer bizzareness, and that's not even counting Johto.

Depends. How familiar is your mun with the world called "Azeroth"?

[Gonna bubble-hearth out, big bro?]

Right. Well, you probably get the general idea already, in that case.

And frankly, I don't think a demonic invasion is something Equestria needs. At all.

...You seem to be a horse.

[Gj Teisel, you have eyes.]

[But why are there so many animals around this place? Several instances of cats, and now horses... what's next, dogs? Fish? Penguins?]
throwmeabonne: (You earned it.)

[personal profile] throwmeabonne 2012-11-21 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Well, erm, yes. [He clears his throat. C'mon man, this is no way to carry on a conversation.]

[Teisel's posture snaps straight, expression completely changed.]

So, the mundane's been giving you a little trouble, huh? Crossovers, I'm told they're called. They aren't so bad! They're, er... a little hard to avoid, where I'm from.

[Capcom x EVERYTHING.]

Gensokyo is a section of the human world sealed behind the Great Hakurei Barrier. Youkai and various other kinds of beings reside there and their typical form of combat is the art of bullet arrangements formally known as "danmaku." It's actually very common for us ponies to be matched with those from Gensokyo; I've learned a lot about their world from a very knowledgeable magician named Patchouli Knowledge...

In other words, you don't have to worry too much about that, Shining.

It's very strange, yes, but it's no different to others thinking of Equestria as strange. Culture clashing is one of the more popular aspects of being on Dreamwidth; you learn a lot of thing that way and most of the time, it's nothing to worry about.

Gensokyo culture just so happens to be one we would get along with very well.
