There's no need for it. [ She'd like a few, oh, years worth of apologies and perhaps a few interspersed therapy sessions, but mostly with him out of her head. ]

Do you truly believe that? That you, nonetheless I, don't need to work this out?

Maybe I just believe that nothing you could possibly say would make up for what you did.

Do you mean the part where out of all the sniveling followers in this school I could have chosen, I selected the brilliant and capable? Do you have any idea how easy I could have had it if I had? No questions. Blinded loyalty. I didn't chose that though, did I?

I chose you. I hadn't counted on your immunity, but I do find it fascinating.

If that's supposed to be flattery, you really need to work on your technique.

I'm sorry. What part of noting your brilliance wasn... Oh right. I'm only supposed to notice the beautiful face and the sexy body poured into thousand dollar clothes, right? Isn't that how you lock yourself away from the world, hiding how truly talented you are?

I'm not hiding anything. [ Though as airy, assured and dismissive as she says it, there's a certain resounding hollowness in the words. ]

Really? That's so good to know. I can't wait to talk to Jackson and so many others about what a bright mind you have. Now that you're letting them see that.

[Oh but he did love pushing buttons.]

[ Pushing? Or mashing with all that supernatural strength acutely focused on causing internal conflict and pain and mental anguish? ]

[All the same to someone like Peter. Lines? Limits? These are not words he is really familiar with.]

Why? He's more ours than yours, don't you think? Well maybe fifty fifty.

How is talking to him about how wonderful you are harming him? What? Would it bruise his delicate ego to know he's crippled mentally next to you?

[ All signs point to the fact that talking with Peter is plenty harmful, and perhaps physically crippling as well in the long run. ]

He's - plenty talented in his own way.

[That is not something Peter, or anyone that has ever met him, could deny.]

Oh, I'm certain he is. Murdering people. Playing lacrosse.

How did that ever become a sport? Does this school not have basketball anymore? Football?

I think they're more clubs than they are teams now. Lacrosse is better. [ Or rather people are better at lacrosse. Most schools tend to focus more money on the team that wins things than the ones that don't. ]

[sassiopath]

Well at least they aren't trying to call things like chess a sport.

Lacrosse is lame. You only defend it because Jackson. What? Was the quarterback of the football team gay?

Or I just don't like football players.

I played basketball so I'm not sure I can speak for them.

Well, there aren't many. So I think I'll stick with lacrosse players.

Despite the fact you can't be yourself. All for him?

I love him. [ Which is true enough, despite a few road bumps like killing people, being a vengeful lizard man and trying to creep on Allison. Either way she does not like these insinuations. ]

But anyway, if I didn't want to do something for him, I wouldn't.

That I don't deny. Not in the least. [It was one of the few things explaining why she did what she did.]

What I don't understand is why you're giving so much of yourself for so little in return.

I get plenty in return from him. [ Plenty heartache, plenty headache... But plenty other thing too; little things, like keys. ]
